The Renegade's goal was to drive the Isparians from Dereth. The two renegade leaders, the Tumerok  [[Niarltah]] and the Lugian [[Muldaveus]], undertook many activities, including the siege on [[Fort Tethana]]<ref>2003/08 [[Into the Darkness]] - [[Announcements - 2003/08 - Into the Darkness#Teaser|Teaser]]</ref><ref>2003/07 [[A Swelling Tide]] - [[A Note (Muldavus)]]</ref> and the construction of the [[Renegade Fortress]] that should have served as their first true foothold on Dereth.<ref>2004/05 [[Mired Hearts]] - [[Fortress Construction]]</ref>  Since they considered their two tribes together still too weak to reach the goal of defeating the Isparians<ref>2003/12 [[Waking from the Abyss]] - [[Reawakening/Part Four|Reawakening, Part Four]]</ref>, they were searching for a third party to cooperate with against the Isparians, and amongst others, were trying to track down [[Aerbax]].<ref>2004/05 [[Mired Hearts]] - [[Aerbax's Valley]]</ref>
