Apply the Extraction Gem to a matching piece of set armor.  Only certain pieces of armor are acceptable targets for the destruction process:

* Is not [[Retained]]
* Armor Set matches the set on the Extraction Gem
* Spellcraft must be 370+
* Must have +1-2 rating. If target armor is:
** Crit Dam, use the Extraction Gem marked with a sword
** Crit Dam Resist, use the Extraction Gem marked with a shield
** [[Aelira]] will exchange your Extraction Gem for the correct type
** Which Extraction Gem (CD or CDR) is used has no impact on the Armor Remnant.

When you have successfully used the Extraction Gem, you will create an Armor Remnant.
