He began his rule in DE 4973. In the fifth year of the reign of His Majesty King Braletain of Haebrous, a tribe of [[Ruschk]] in the frigid northern edge of the Kingdom of Haebrous is slain to make way for a mercantile company's gemstone excavations.<ref name=GraelRebellion>2005/08 - [[Friend and Foe]] - [[The Grael Rebellion]]</ref> This native tribe called themselves "Mukkir" and put up such a ferocious fight against the Haebreans that Braletain's soldiers exterminated every one, save for one single warrior.<ref name="Book of Xik Minru" >2005/09 - [[Under Cover of Night]] - [[Book of Xik Minru]]</ref> This only survivor of this tribe, [[Grael]], is brought back to the Royal Menagerie.<ref name=GraelRebellion>2005/08 - [[Friend and Foe]] - [[The Grael Rebellion]]</ref> At his queen's behest, Braletain subjected [[Grael]] to life in the gladiatorial pits. As time led on, [[Grael]]. a. k. a. the Spear of Mukkir gathered an army of slaves and fought their way from the pits and savaged the kingdom, killing many, including Braletain's young wife, Queen [[Carraida]].<ref>2005/08 - [[Friend and Foe]] - [[Account of the Spear of Mukkir]]</ref><ref name="Book of Xik Minru" >2005/09 - [[Under Cover of Night]] - [[Book of Xik Minru]]</ref> Grael somehow escaped Braletain's vengeance, even as his followers were annihilated by the diluted magical arts of the Haebrean royal "thaumaturges".<ref name="Book of Xik Minru" >2005/09 - [[Under Cover of Night]] - [[Book of Xik Minru]]</ref> Lord [[Alashorn]] wrote that after the death of the Queen and the events of the Grael Rebellion, Braletain was not the same, and with no clear successor, he feared that war would soon come between the allied nations of Yalain and Haebrous and the Dericostians.<ref name=GraelRebellion>2005/08 - [[Friend and Foe]] - [[The Grael Rebellion]]</ref> Twenty years after The Grael Rebellion, King Braletain is a ruined and wasted man, a shadow of the strong and admirable leader he had been.<ref name=GraelRebellion>2005/08 - [[Friend and Foe]] - [[The Grael Rebellion]]</ref> At approximately DE 5000, when [[Dericost]] reached the height of it's power, it attacked the neighboring nations of [[Haebrous]] and [[Yalain]]. This marked the beginning of the [[Millennium War]].<ref name=AgesEmp>2001/11 - [[Dark Majesty]] - [[AC:DM CD Lore/Ages of the Empyrean|Ages of the Empyrean]]</ref> * Successor (??) was King [[Jailne]], who, together with Empress [[Alaidain]] of the [[Yalaini]], defeated the [[Dericost]] faction of the [[Latzimestal]] at the end of the [[Millennium War]], ca.
