{{Turbine Games Q&A | Link = <nowiki>http://www.turbinegames.com/qa/view_questions.html?id=7733</nowiki> | Title = What armor level do imperil spells reduce? | Text = {{Turbine Games Q&A Question | Asked = 2001.04.26 | Player = Chiun | Title = What armor level do imperil spells reduce? | Category = Combat | Question = Howdy...I took a look through previous questions, and may have missed it, but I couldn't find this one listed.

When you imperil a creature, which armor level does it reduce? Let me quickly explain what I mean, please.

I thought like characters, creatures had a base armor level, say 100 AL. Now, against piercing, maybe they have a resistance modifier of 0.7, so, for piercing attacks, the effective armor level is 70. To cold, they may have a resistance mod of 1.5, so, against cold, they have an effective armor level of 150.

Does the imperil spell drop the base armor level, or does it drop the effective armor level?

Is the armor level that imperil reduces independent of resistance values for each damage type?

So, suppose I am fighting a matty, and I get his base armor level to zero...I can now use my cold weapon against him, and he's got no armor...is this right? The matty would take full damage from cold as there is no armor factor helping to reduce the damage.

Thanks a lot! | Answered = 2001.05.09 | Dev = Dell | Answer = Imperil reduces the creatures base armor level, and armor for creatures is independent of the creature's resistances. So, utilizing cold on that mattekar after you imperil it still wouldn't be as optimal as using fire, due to the creature's innate resistances. }} }}
