{{Turbine Games Q&A | Link = <nowiki>http://www.turbinegames.com/qa/view_questions.html?id=1707</nowiki> | Title = 3Dfx Card Problem | Text = {{Turbine Games Q&A Question | Asked = 2000.11.07 | Player = Icebandit the Blue | Title = 3Dfx Card Problem | Category = Graphics | Question = When I set the graphics settings on my Voodoo III to the maximum, it gives me a low texture memory message and the textures start disappearing (mainly in towns). Is this card REALLY this bad? Or is it a fixable problem? I heard something on a site that talked about setting a flag in ac but that didnt seem to work, will I have to reset this flag every time I get on?<br /><br />Flag:<br />@render texpage off<br />@render texpage on | Answered = 2000.11.07 | Dev = Jason Booth | Answer = the @render texpage on/off toggles a switch specifically put in for 3dfx cards right at the end of beta. Basically, thier drivers have a huge un-documented "feature" of only allowing 1280 textures, and then randomly scribling over memory with the next 1281st one. I believe in certain cards/drivers this is fixed, and turning it off can improve visual quality.<br /><br />However, the "low texture memory" warning is simply because your running out of texture memory. To use AC with all textures on full, you need a 32 meg card. I would suggest lowering your index texture res to 1/2, as this will put you well within limits. }} }}
