{{Turbine Games Q&A | Link = <nowiki>http://www.turbinegames.com/qa/view_questions.html?id=7973</nowiki> | Title = What exactly does 1 AL do? | Text = {{Turbine Games Q&A Question | Asked = 2001.05.07 | Player = Brede | Title = What exactly does 1 AL do? | Category = Items | Question = I've read all the stuff about how unparalleled is 2X the AL of the armor piece against that particular attack type, and all that other stuff.<br />But what exactly does 1 AL do? Does 1 point of armor do the same thing always, like 1 armor reduces damage by .5% or .1 hit points per hit or does the effect of 1 armor point diminish the higher the AL is?<br />I'm just curious how much difference there would be between like 150 AL and 160 AL | Answered = 2001.05.25 | Dev = jesse | Answer = 1 AL wouldn't do a whole lot. =)<br /><br />The mapping of AL to damage protected against is not a linear relation. While point increases at lower levels are more noticable, there are dimineshing returns at higher AL levels. }} }}
