At the conclusion of the [[Millennium War]] [[Geraine]] and his servants, including Rytheran, fled to Dereth to escape their destruction.<ref name = BookMinesh>1999/12 [[Sudden Season]] - [[The Book of Minesh]]</ref><ref name=AncientJournalPage>2007/03 [[Ancient Enemies]] - [[Ancient Journal Page]]</ref> He confronted the [[Gelidites]] led by [[Frisander]], [[Fenngar]] and [[Ferundi]]. During this encounter, the Gelidites nearly killed him, which gave the Gelidites the room to kill off the remaining forces and travel on.<ref name=BookMinesh>1999/12 [[Sudden Season]] - [[The Book of Minesh]]</ref> Rytheran found the [[House Mhoire]], of which the Lord and the Lady fled the court from [[Dericost]] to [[Dereth]] when Lord Cynreft Mhoire learned that Prince [[Geraine IV]] had become undead.<ref name=AncientJournalPage>2007/03 [[Ancient Enemies]] - [[Ancient Journal Page]]</ref> 


Rytheran used the [[Book of Eibhil]],<ref name=FoolishAmbitionTeaser>2008/03 [[Foolish Ambition]] - [[Announcements_-_2008/03_-_Foolish_Ambition#Teaser|Teaser]]</ref><ref name=RytheransJournal>2008/03 [[Foolish Ambition]] - [[Rytheran's Journal]]</ref><ref name=LordRytheransJournal>2008/03 [[Foolish Ambition]] - [[Lord_Rytheran%27s_Journal#Lore_.26_Dialog|Lord Rytheran's Journal: Lore & Dialog]]</ref> to destroy the Mhoire estate and torture and corrupt the people.<ref name=RytheransLetter>2007/03 [[Ancient Enemies]] - [[Rytheran's Letter]]</ref><ref name=JesterRev>2008/06 [[Dispatch]] - [[The Jester's Revelations]]</ref> All of the House Mhoire was destroyed, with only the graveyard remaining, which was eventually swallowed by the earth.<ref name=AncientJournalPage/>

The [[Filinuvekta]], under leadership of Aerfalle and Rytheran, allied themselves with the opposing [[Dericost]] faction of the [[Latzimestal - "Lords of the World"]], [[Asheron]], the [[Virindi]],  a rogue follower of Bael'Zharon named [[Isin Dule]], and the Isparians to drive Bael'Zharon off of this plane of existence.<ref>2000/08 [[Taste of Twilight]] - [[Dark Revenant Note Translation]]</ref><ref>2007/10 [[Masked Memories]] - [[Delving into Claude's Mind#Lore & Dialog]]</ref><ref name="Pack Bael'Zharon">2004/04 - [[On Bended Knee]] - [[Pack Bael'Zharon]]</ref>


The Dericostian undead including Aerfalle and Rytheran helped to get rid of the Olthoi invasion <ref>2003/10 [[Reign of Terror]] - [[Announcements - 2003/10 - Reign of Terror#Teaser]]</ref> and tried to stop the advance of the [[Ancient Olthoi Queen]], when she returned to attack Dereth. The undead sealed the passage of the retreating queen using the machines assembled by the Isparians via the [[Undead Mechanic]].<ref>2003/12 [[Waking From the Abyss]] - [[Missives to the World Shaper]]</ref>

Later, at some point after Wintersebb, 17 PY<ref name=AncientEnemiesRollout>2007/03 [[Ancient Enemies]] - [[Announcements_-_2007/03_-_Ancient_Enemies#Rollout_Article|Rollout]]</ref> and before Wintersebb, 18 PY, Rytheran entered the hidden library below the mage academy and read from the [[Book of Eibhil]].<ref name=RytheransLetter/> He did so in an attempt to refresh his fading mind, which according to his letter to [[Aerfalle]] was successful.<ref name=RytheransLetter/><ref>2008/06 [[Dispatch]] - [[Disturbance in the Ley Lines#Lore & Dialog]]</ref> However, his reading from the book caused the graveyard to be unearthed and the spirits of the Mhoires to awaken.<ref name=RytheransLetter/> 
Later realizing he had been duped by the powers of the book, Rytheran left his library, book in hand, intent to deliver it to Geraine.<ref name=FoolishAmbitionTeaser/><ref name=RytheransJournal/>

The floating [[Mhoire Castle]] over the Graveyard was invaded by Rytheran's forces<ref name=TombWritings>2009/12 [[Gaining Ground]] - [[Translated Tomb Writings]]</ref><ref name=CastleMhoireLore>2009/12 [[Gaining Ground]] - [[Castle of Lord Mhoire Quest#Lore & Dialog]]</ref>, and used to keep [[Hoshino Kei]] captive before her wedding.<ref>2010/04 [[Shedding Skin]] - [[Kidnapped Handmaiden#Lore & Dialog]]</ref>
