== Overview ==
This quest was one of the "appetizers" in the [[The Rise of the New Singularity]] Story Arc.

If you can survive the fall, much of the dungeon can be skipped by jumping ''into'' the pit rather than across it. If you can deal melee damage or magical damage that does not require line-of-sight, you can kill and loot Dirrich through the grates at the bottom of the pit. As long as its corpse is next to the grate you should be able to loot it.

# Kill the Rifts outside the dungeon until you get a message saying you feel changed.
# Enter the mostly linear dungeon, do not jump into any pits
# Kill [[Dirrich, the Warden]], loot the {{Itemlink|Shackles of Obedience}} and an {{Itemlink|Obsidian Shard (Dirrich's Journal)|Obsidian Shard}} from his corpse.
# Bring the Shard to [[Diyas al-Yat]] to get it translated and receive {{Itemlink|Dirrich's Journal}}
# Bring the Shackles to [[Josef]] in [[Martine's Retreat]] for an experience reward.
