{{Turbine Games Q&A | Link = <nowiki>http://www.turbinegames.com/qa/view_questions.html?id=3889</nowiki> | Title = Why did you destroy crystal? | Text = {{Turbine Games Q&A Question | Asked = 2000.12.10 | Player = Pantalaimon | Title = Why did you destroy crystal? | Category = Backstory | Question = I would like to know why you destoyed the crystal. If you really meant for it to be a player controled event, why did the dev's go destroy the TD crystal. The fact that it was planned made it no longer a player event, and the TD defense was in vain. If it was going to happen anyway they might as well have destroyed it themselves. Please tell me why you did this? | Answered = 2000.12.11 | Dev = Stormwaltz | Answer = The crystal had to be destroyed to advance the plot. We could have done it offscreen - just said on patch day "Yeah, so, the TD crystal was destroyed by a Shadow attack." As a gesture of respect for the time and effort invested by the defenders, we instead elected to do the same thing live, as our first ever small, limited Live World interactive event.<br /><br />For further details, I encourage you to read the most recent [[Announcements - 2000/12 - The Child of Daralet#Letter to the Players|Spin From Turbine]]. }} }}
