{{Turbine Games Q&A | Link = <nowiki>http://www.turbinegames.com/qa/view_questions.html?id=3737</nowiki> | Title = New Damage Modes | Text = {{Turbine Games Q&A Question | Asked = 2000.12.07 | Player = Russano the Wise | Title = New Damage Modes | Category = Combat | Question = Since it seems the infamous Slashing/Piercing damage is a totally new damage class, is it possible for you to intentionally add new classes of damage? Could you also add the appropriate new defenses?<br /><br />If you could, could that be used to make certain weapons do more damage to a given set of creatures? (I've always wanted the Sword of Lost Light to do extra damage against Shadows, you know...)<br /><br />-RtW | Answered = 2000.12.11 | Dev = Stormwaltz | Answer = It's not as easy as that. We could set specific quest weapons to inflict hybrid damage types, but there's no code path that will allow armor to defend against it. All hybrid damage types would thus effectively be hollow - which is why they're bad.<br /><br />Trust me, I've asked about this a few times in the last 18 months... new damage types are highly unlikely. }} }}
