{{Turbine Games Q&A | Link = <nowiki>http://www.turbinegames.com/qa/view_questions.html?id=7985</nowiki> | Title = What skills do monsters use to attack? | Text = {{Turbine Games Q&A Question | Asked = 2001.05.08 | Player = Matrix Meligant | Title = What skills do monsters use to attack? | Category = Combat | Question = In a previous question you said that monsters have (and use) the Life Magic, War Magic, and Creature Magic skills just like players. This means those skills can be debuffed just like a character can.

How does it work for melee monsters? Does a drudge sliker who attacks me with a spear using spear skill? If I deduff his spear skill will he be helpless? Also how about monsters that don't have weapons like olthoi and tuskers? Are they using the UA skill?

Thanks. | Answered = 2001.05.08 | Dev = devilmouse | Answer = Correct on all counts. If the monster is attacking you using a weapon, it's using that weapon skill.

If the monster is not using a weapon (olthoi, tuskers, etc), then yes, they are using the UA skill.

As for debuffing their skills, they won't be helpless, but just like you, they'll miss more with a lower skill. }} }}
