You must kill the [[Underminer Leader]] in the [[Granite Quarry]] and return his notes to [[Royal Guard Adrana]] in [[Yanshi]] to be able to use the lower undermine portal.

The lower undermine is an excellent place to complete the [[Repugnant Eater Kill Task]].
