The first part of this quest is essentially the medium [[Harbinger Quest#Medium Version|Harbinger]] where you first kill the Essences to weaken him. Defeating the Harbinger for this quest, however, is not necessary.

* Introduced in [[A Change in Tactics]], the Essences were outdoor creature spawns, located near the Essences which were used to obtain level 7 Spells. It was only possible to upgrade Amuli during this time.
* During the [[Shining Runes and Shadowed Hands]] event, it became possible to upgrade other suits of [[Greater Shadow Armor]].
* The Essences were moved into a separate dungeon, the [[Essence Chamber]], during the [[Price of Loyalty]] event.
