Overview

• Delve into a glimpse of the past, as the seeds respond to tales cataloged by historians of battles fought and lost. Enemies long dead bleed back into reality, and we are called to once again venture to the temple of Ithaenc and make the choice to defend the Shard of the Herald, or see it destroyed and its dark master freed. Will you repeat the same mistakes, or see a glimpse of a future lost in the threads of fate?

Walkthrough & Notes

1. Acquire a General History of Dereth Vol. X.
2. Go to the Ithaenc Cathedral and run to at 82.8S, 93.0E.
   • Route: Recall to the Sanctuary or buy an Invitation Ithaenc Cathedral from the Wedding Planner. The recall is the fastest way.
3. Once everyone has gathered, hand the Book to the Herald Quiddity Seed. This will start the quest.
4. Go nearby to the tents at 83.3S, 93.2E. Kill the Chalicmere Legion Commander and loot the Broken Silver Key. Only one person needs it.
   • Optional: Find and kill Asmolum the Worm to receive 15,000 luminance when you use his corpse.
5. Kill Anadil of Shakrassekor. A gateway to the Undead Skytower at the Perimeter will open nearby.
6. Take the gateway and kill the Dark Revenant. This will spawn a Shadow Infiltrator that needs to be killed. When the Shadow Infiltrator dies, loot the Split Silver Key from it's corpse.
7. Recall back to the Sanctuary and run west to 83.2S, 91.0E. Kill Lady Aerfalle and loot the Snapped Silver Key.
8. Recall back to the Sanctuary, and combine the key pieces to obtain a Silver Key. Use the key on Kelderam's Tomb to obtain Kelderam's Path gem.
9. When everyone is ready, use the gem to summon a portal to Savao Island. If you die on the island, portal recall to return.
10. Proceed to the top of the island and use the Corpse of the Shard of the Herald to continue the quest. You must choose to either Shatter or Defend the Shard of the Herald.
    • This choice will influence the rewards.

Defending the Shard of Herald

1. Before spawning the Shard of the Herald, turn off your summons as these can attack and kill it.
2. The nearby portal has a countdown. Once it reaches zero, creatures will spawn along with Vidorian, Ler Rhan, and Black Ferah. You must prevent them from killing the Shard of Herald for approximately 5 minutes to complete the quest.
   • Optional: During the countdown, use the Shard of the Herald to infuse it with your vitality. This can kill you unless you have enough health. However, it will power it up to help it survive and earn you the title "Dead Meat".
3. After 5 minutes have elapsed and the Shard of Herald disappears, there will be a slight delay before the Lythusser the Diplomat spawns.
4. Talk to Lythusser the Diplomat to receive a Dominion Key, experience and luminance. The key is used to purchase an item from the Dominion Chest next to him.

Shattering the Shard of Herald

1. If you have chosen to Shatter the Shard of Herald, kill the shard when it spawns.
2. Once dead there will be a local message informing you to destroy the 5 Strange Devices located around the island.
   • The Strange Devices are surrounded by high level monsters that do a lot of damage so proceed carefully.
   • Optional: For an additional luminance reward, you can kill the Uber Tainted Golems around the island until one drops the Keg of Savao Island Ale. The following must be done BEFORE all of the Strange Devices have been killed.
     Proceed to use Ulgrims corpse located on the shoreline. When Ulgrim the Unreal is summoned, hand him the Keg of Savao Island Ale. Ulgrim the Unreal will spawn a Keg that you will use for a 15,000 luminance bonus. This keg will disappear within 5 minutes.
3. After all 5 Strange Devices have been destroyed, a local message will appear from Uber Herald's Isin Dule. This will inform you to proceed back to the top of the hill where you will speak with him for your rewards. The rewards include experience, luminance, and a Corroded Platinum Key.
4. The Corroded Platinum Key you receive is used to purchase an item from the chest that spawns next to Isin Dule.

Giving the Keg of Savao Island Ale to Ulgrim the Unreal
You inspect the corpse, checking for signs of treasure.
You hear a voice, "I'm not dead! Really."
You give Ulgrim the Unreal Keg of Savao Island Ale.
Ulgrim the Unreal tells you, "Oh, thank you!"
Ulgrim the Unreal tells you, "I didn't expect you to bring a whole keg."
Ulgrim the Unreal tells you, "Now, let's see..."
Ulgrim the Unreal tells you, "This color...the sound of it swishing in my mug..."
The ale spills on the sand where Ulgrim stands.
Ulgrim the Unreal tells you, "I wish I could taste it."
Ulgrim the Unreal says, "Why don't you do the honors?"
You pour yourself a mug of ale to humor Ulgrim, but discreetly dump it into the water.
