Critical Strike increases the chance that the item critically hits its opponent (normally it's 10% for melee/ranged and 5% for projectile spells). The increase in chance depends on the attack skill of the wielder. Add Critical Strike to a loot weapon using Magic Item Tinkering to apply a bag of Salvaged Black Opal.

Formulas:

  • Melee Weapon Critical Chance = (Weapon Skill - 100)/600
  • Missile Weapon Critical Chance = (Weapon Skill - 60)/600
  • Magic Caster Critical Chance = (Weapon Skill - 60)/600

Examples using the skill caps:

  • With a base melee skill of 400, 50% of hits would be criticals.
  • With a base missile weapons skill of 360, 50% of hits would be criticals.
  • With a base war magic skill of 360, 50% of hits would be criticals.
