Walkthrough & Notes

Part 1: Vestibule Lock

1. Head to Fortress of Xaa Xiil at 96.5S 95.0W, kill Xaa Xiil, and loot the Twilight Fragment.
   • Optional: Kill Archon Traesis for the Caliginous Aegis.
2. Head to the Raven Towers, kill the Greater Void Lord at 94.3S 93.4W, and loot the Raven Fragment.
   • Optional: Kill Archon Greis in the South Tower for the Circle of Raven Might.
3. Head to the Raven Hand Spire located at 95.0S 98.2W, kill the Greater Penumbral Horror, and loot the Iniquitous Fragment.
   • Optional: Kill Archon Ingfall for the Mitts of the Hunter.
4. Use the Twilight Fragment on the Raven Fragment to get a Combined Artifact Fragment.
5. Use the Combined Artifact Fragment on the Iniquitous Fragment to get a Vestibule Lock.
6. Give the Vestibule Lock to Sarkin Killcrane in Wai Jhou for xp and a repaired Vestibule Lock.
7. Run to the top of the tower in the Nightmare Gate Fortress at 89.7S, 93.3W.
8. Hand the Vestibule Lock to the Nightmare Gate to be teleported into the Nightmare Gate dungeon.

Part 2: Nightmare Gate

1. Work your way to the end of the dungeon.
2. Pickup Unreadable Dericost Tome and Journal of High Archon Kraest from the tables in the two east rooms.
   • There is also a Black Marrow Reliquary at the south near the exit portal that you can loot.
3. Give the Unreadable Dericost Tome to Kuyiza bint Zayi the Translator in Zaikhal to receive the Translated Dericost Tome.
4. Give the Journal of High Archon Kraest and Translated Dericost Tome to Sarkin Killcrane in Wai Jhou to receive Account of the Spear of Mukkir, Journal of High Archon Kraest and your rewards.
   • Note: Be sure to have three free pack spaces each time!

Shadow Hunter Killcrane cracks the seal of the journal and reads over its contents quickly.

Sarkin Killcrane tells you, "Ah, the infamous High Archon Kraest... hmm? You haven't heard of him before now? I suppose you wouldn't, few outside of the Raven Hand know of him, and those who do are likely ones such as myself."

Sarkin Killcrane tells you, "This journal contains Kraest's notes. His goal seems to be to unleash some trapped essence associated with the darkness. The text gives a better description of what exactly this being is... better than the Dericost texts I have managed to get my hands upon recently."

Sarkin Killcrane tells you, "Kraest calls this being "the Spear of Mukkir." I can't say as I heard of such a thing before. Though from what he has written, it is apparently a vicious and frightening creature."

Sarkin Killcrane tells you, "It is clear from this journal that Kraest accomplished what he sought to do on the Singularity Caul. He has shattered the first crystal he believes to be keeping this creature at bay."
