Thanks for the tip about not adding quest items to the Bonded category - is it the same for the Attuned category or does this only apply to Bonded? (I don't see the same kind of note under Bonded)
My Apologies for making a change to reflect how this quest was now. I will refrain from doing so in the future.

Also it sure would be nice to just have a 'Quest Item' category instead of just dumping them all into 'Item' - what do you think? --RyanR 22:22, 15 June 2009 (UTC)

I changed the color schemes on the skill pages, they were unreadable before. If you would prefer different colors that's fine by me. I figured it was most important to be able to see the text :D

The edits that show up are replace text edits. This function uses its own unique permission type and it overrides the bot one so shows up. I've configured it so only bot accounts have access to this tool. It allows you to replace text across the entire wiki. While logged on a bot account the :Special:ReplaceText link will appear on :Special:SpecialPages.
Re: Wiki Questions
Hey there, thanks for the detailed reply! I was able to chat with Bob briefly in Discord as well, so I think I am fully up-to-date on the status of the wiki. The reddit discussions you linked were exactly the type of information I was looking for.

You enter the text to find, what to replace it with, then hit Continue and a message indicating how many undifferentiated instances there are (places where the new text already exists), hit continue and a list of all the instances will display with a check box by each one. Hitting Replace will then load all of the instances into the Job cue (that were still check boxed). The cue does a replace every time someone uses the wiki (to balance out the load on the server) until all the requested changes have been processed.
I was fairly active on acpedia.org making edits back in 2013-2014. Looking at my contribution list, I have been able to verify that they are pretty much all merged with the current wikia/fandom content. That is good because my main aim was always to contribute for the community. I'm in the process of getting back into the game, so any edits I make going forward will be on fandom. Although, I will most certainly be using acpedia.org for browsing/reading purposes.

I'm almost done changing the icon files (done A to S) and will be running it again when done to change the icon to Icon on individual pages (maybe, there may be too many so may need to whittle the number down some first).--Tlosk's Bot 19:00, 15 May 2009 (UTC)
My own story is actually fairly similar to the AC wiki. I was an admin on the Dragon Quest Wiki on wikia back in 2009-2010. In 2010, we decided to go independent due changes being forced by wikia. That is when I created dragon-quest.org and ported everything over. I still run the site today and am part of NIWA which is an organization to foster collaboration among independently hosted wikis. So I can identify with the challenges and decisions that you have had to make over the years. I still very much dislike wikia/fandom, but I admit that if I do get hit by a bus, the Dragon Quest wiki is probably in trouble. --Pagoda (talk) 01:59, July 28, 2019 (UTC)

This is the first of three stages, where I get the bulk of the data in place using tools. The second will be editing individual spell pages, most will be redirects categorized as creature spell, unlearnable spell, etc. Some will have their own page when they have additional information that's important (related quests, etc). Ones with their own page will have a prominent link to the list page for stacking info. Also in the second stage I'll be deleting the generic Cantrip pages (all spells of a given effect are now listed on the same list page, and the individual spell redirects will be themselves categorized at cantrip, this way they will show up individually by name on the category page).
Hi there!

After initially including tapers, I discovered that there are discrepancies in game and in fact there aren't nonpersonal tapers (colors in the supposedly fixed taper position that differ from those given in the portal.dat info). Those can be added if anyone wants to though (the Spell Formula template allows you to just insert tapers or empty spaces as desired). Since it's no longer possible to enter component information to learn a new spell though it's not something that I'll be doing myself.
Yes, I recreated all of the content for Neftet that was recently released to Coldeve and the Drunkenfell ACE servers. The content is also in the works for GDLE conversion. To answer your question, I studied the data for several months, watched numerous videos on several of the quests to jog my personal memory and meticulously re-created everything as perfect as humanly possible according to PCAP data. What changed was mostly quest rewards as Legendary Tokens were phased out, and several videos confirm the updated rewards.

The learnable information will be added in the third stage (this data is metadata so will have to be done by hand for each spell), I'm toying with the idea of linking to scrolls (with the respective icon) for those, and making special icons for monster only, item only, or quest learned that would each link to something appropriate for that particular spell.
They were outdated both here and acpedia. I also reflected these changes at acpedia. I hope this answers your question! Feel free to message in in Discord in the ACE channel under Drid#4917 in the contributor channel, or the LSD channel under content contributor. All of us in the AC community appreciate your diligence and efforts in maintaining these wiki's! Since the content is "fresh" again, I felt it deserved to be corrected as players will be coming here now that the content is available once more!

There's about 5000 spells so I should be done in another day or two. The tables and rows are templates to make adjustments as painless as possible so if you think of any more suggestions let me know. --Tlosk 15:15, 17 July 2009 (UTC)

:Also we'll need to overhaul the Spells page once this is all done and I was thinking of making a prominent section there about focii and prismatic formulas instead of repeating them on every single spell. --Tlosk 15:18, 17 July 2009 (UTC)

::I should add that I have no objection to having individual pages for each spell, but at least for the interim we'll have all spells link to something that gives a description. I primarily made them links to aid in making the redirects, so there are links to spells that do have pages, and because I thought it looked nicer. --Tlosk 15:37, 17 July 2009 (UTC)

Re: Wiki Questions Edit

Hey there, thanks for the detailed reply! I was able to chat with Bob briefly in Discord as well, so I think I am fully up-to-date on the status of the wiki. The reddit discussions you linked were exactly the type of information I was looking for.
