Overview

Prerequisites

• You'll want to complete Aerbax's Prodigal Olthoi first to get the weapon to upgrade.
• By the time you are ready to create the weapon, you will need 100 Small Olthoi Venom Sacs to purchase a Deactivated Olthoi Weapon Kit from Hisham al-Evv in Olthoi North. You do not have to collect these before completing the Paradox-embraced Olthoi Weapon Quest, but it will make the following process faster.

Walkthrough & Notes

Flagging And Adventure

1. Begin by speaking with Elorie Steelhammer in Eastwatch. It is also helpful to speak to Venomward Mathieu to get the Olthoi Venomtalon kill task which can be completed concurrently with this quest.
2. Head to Egg Orchard West and make your way to the Egg Room. You will find Corwin Steelhammer in a side alcove. While you are flagged for the quest, it will ask if you would like to begin the quest. Make sure all of your party is in the Egg Room before you begin, as doors will spawn when the event begins.
3. When the event begins, an Olthoi Orchard Matron and two Matron Guards will spawn, along with the normal spawn of Egg Guardians and Olthoi Larvae. Controlling the spawn while doing consistent damage to the Matron is the primary goal of this fight, as it is very easy to get overwhelmed.
   • Note: If you die during this encounter, a portal (that appears like an olthoi door) appears in the pit area right after the jump. Use this portal to re-enter the egg room. This portal will disappear the moment the Matron dies.
4. When the Matron dies, you must use her corpse to get 15,000 Luminance, XP, and a Olthoi Matron Acid. Once everyone in your party has their acid, you can leave.

Crafting and Upgrade

• The first step must be completed by someone with Alchemy, and the DC is very high. An Alchemy rare is effectively required.

After killing the matron in EO West and talking to both NPCs in Eastwatch, gather 100 Small Olthoi Venom Sacs. Travel to the Paradox Valley tent and buy:

Deactivated Olthoi Weapon Kit - 100 Small Olthoi Venom Sacs

Then pick up Activation Oil from the table next to Peda in the Olthoi resistance pit.

Hand your Deactivated Olthoi Weapon Kit and Activation Oil to a max alch on rare for combine, and receive back Activated Olthoi Weapon Kit:

Next, combine the Prepared Olthoi Acid with the Activated Olthoi Weapon Kit to create an Empowered Olthoi Weapon Kit (no skill check for this step).

Then combine the Empowered Olthoi Weapon Kit with your normal Paradox Touched weapon to empower it.
