Overview

• This quest requires first-timers to complete the Aerbax's Prodigal Drudge and loot the "Letter to Bonecrunch" off the ground by Bonecrunch's throne.

Walkthrough & Note

• Prior to starting you will need a shovel found on the ground near the start of The Fazenda Caves.
• Enter The Fazenda Caves at 49.8N, 7.7E.
• Best route is Crater Lake Village -> Ianna, which puts you on the right side of the mountain range
• Enter Fazenda Caves - take first right. Shovel on ground.

• You will also want to gather some food for Shanks, the Drudge, to make him talk.
• Barkeep Lienne in Arwic ("33.4N, 56.7E") has a good selection.
• (Take some type of meat pie and chocolate cake. you will want 4 or 5 of each)

To begin the quest:

1. Talk to Liora Fenn in Holtburg bar - 42.2N, 33.7E

2. Goto Drudge Fort outside of Crag - fight your way to the middle.

• A huge wooden Fort at 25.4N 45.9E near Cragstone. It's quite full of Drudges.
• You need to kill different doors to get to the center with the house with the NPC, and the dungeon.
• Fort Doors are marked with torches.

3. Speak to Hoogan in the house.

• Through the back window: Hoogan tells you, "You must help us. The Drudges have imprisoned us here. We've tried everything to escape, but they're always watching." Hoogan tells you, "The only one whose been kind to us is Sergeant Shanks. We found out he knows where the blueprints for the Drudge Fort are. You may be able to "convince" him to give you the information if you bring him something tasty to eat. He tends to talk when he eats."

4. Go to front of house and talk with Shanks.

• Give various foods to Shanks to make him talk to you - continue until he tells you the Bitter drudges have the Fort Blueprints. Sergeant Shanks tells you, "Mmm! Slurp! Crunch! Munch! Those Biters think they special just because Klank give them blueprints to guard. Crunch! Munch! I could guard blueprints. No one gets nothing from me!"

5. Now kill Bitter Drudges to get Blueprints. They spawn around the house. (It took me 10 or 12 kills before the blueprint dropped).

6. Give Blueprints to Hoogan, along with Farmer Kao's Shovel, to receive the Cave Door Key.

• You give Hoogan Drudge Fort Blueprints.
• Hoogan looks the blueprints over. Hoogan tells you, "Alright, we know we need to dig to avoid these tunnels the Drudges dug here and here, but we don't have anything to dig with. If we had a shovel we could really get out of here." Hoogan tells you, "Can you find us a shovel? I don't know what the drudges used to dig their tunnels, but maybe you can find a clue around. If you bring me back a shovel I'll give you this key we slipped off of Shanks when he was sleeping today. I think it leads into their tunnels below." Hoogan tells you, "Remember, if you find a shovel be sure not to give it to anyone else. Bring it to me." You allow Hoogan to examine your Farmer Kao's Shovel. You hand over 1 of your Farmer Kao's Shovels. Hoogan bestows the title "Hoogan's Hero" on you. Hoogan tells you, "Perfect! With this we can finish the tunnel we've been clawing and scrapping out under the bed in here. You've saved my skin friend. Take this key and bring the fight to the Drudges in their tunnels and caves below."
• Hoogan gives you Cave Door Key.

7. Use the Cave Door Key to access the Cave Dungeon. You will enter in a tunnel which connects to a large chamber. Opposite of you will be a portal to the next area. In order to enter it, you must first kill Kernel Klank. This will release the restrictions on the portal which takes you to the main and final dungeon, Under Drudge Fort.

8. Under Drudge Fort is a large maze, Find Map on Wiki -  Follow map and jump down to the lower level where Bonecrunch is. 

9. Kill everything and pickup Letter to Bonecrunch laying in front of throne on the floor. Portal back to Holtburg

10. You give Liora Fenn Letter to Bonecrunch.

• Liora Fenn tells you, "This is terrible news! Bonecrunch already threatens Cragstone, but to see these new Drudges of the Valley of Death entering the picture is disheartening." Liora Fenn tells you, "We've heard reports from Jarvis Hammerstone about Drudges acquiring pieces of a Shadow Spire, but he must have been wrong when he thought they were using it for building materials. The energy in that Spire Chunk must be immense for something so crude as Drudges to use it to power portals." Liora Fenn tells you, "I need you to find me a Spire Chunk so that we might be able to reverse their technique and summon the portal ourselves." Liora Fenn tells you, "You must hurry, so many innocent adventurers are here in Holtburg, if they invade before you're successful the Exploration Society will not be able to defend the town!"

11. Go to Crag to get Spire Chunk: Spire Chunk - 23.8N, 49.3E near the Fallen Shadow Spire of Cragstone. You will find a group of Drudges.  Drudge Ravener drops the chunk you are looking for. Return it to Liora Fenn.

12. You give Liora Fenn Spire Chunk.

• Liora Fenn tells you, "I've never seen something so powerful this close before! How could a mere Drudge manage to use this?" Hunched over a book and with great trouble she begins refining a device Liora Fenn tells you, "Using this Spire Chunk we have something to power the portal but now we need a method of planar triangulation. Perhaps you have a shard of a lifestone?"

13. Show Liora a Lifestone Shard (she will return it to you along with a Planar Crystal Activator). You allow Liora Fenn to examine your Lifestone Shard.

• Liora Fenn tells you, "I'm surprised you would give this up so readily, I know many value them dearly." She finalizes the device using the Lifestone Shard Liora Fenn gives you Planar Crystal Activator. Liora Fenn tells you, "This is only a crude device crafted with a lifestone shard, therefore I was unable to reduce the vitae penalty imposed by Asheron." Liora Fenn tells you, "The device will open a portal. Simply use it on the Planar Crystal at Drudge Hideout and perhaps we can trick those Valley of Death Drudges into a trap." Liora Fenn tells you, "Go quickly! You must prevail, kill every Drudge you see, do not let them overtake you, for if they get out of Drudge Hideout we will not be able to stop them!"

14. Go to the Drudge Hideout at 41.4N, 33.3E Goto the first large room (left from drop - then right - then left). Drop the Planar Crystal Activator on the Planar Crystal floating in the corner.  This activates the drudge onslaught so prepare prior to dropping the shard on the crystal.

There will be 5 waves of drudges with Bitter Tongue being in the last wave.  Kill Bitter Tongue, collect a head (he drops 9) and turn it in to Liora Fenn for your reward.

NOTES:

You can save the head for multiple turn-ins.

Your second and subsequence attempts you simply need to talk with Liora Fenn who hands you the Planar Crystal Activator.
