Quest Overview
- Once you've obtained your Palenqual's Living Weapons, you can upgrade them to more powerful Renegade Living Weapons (120+).
Walk Through
- [OPTIONAL] Purchase the Aun Shimauri (Text) from Aun Laranawa the Barkeep in Timaru at 44.3N, 78.0W
- Kill Hea Tumeroks, until you find four totems (1 for flagging, 3 for the weapon):
- Note: The totem used for flagging does not matter. The 3 additional totems will determine what type of weapon you create.
- Tip: The Hea Raider's Cache at 43.3N 82.5W on the plateau is a good place to find a consistent spawn of Hea. Also the Western Dam at 48.7N, 79.9W has another large static spawn of Hea. For those under level 35, try also the Tumerok Camp at 40.5N, 78.2W
- Totem of Audetaunga - Attack Bonus, Melee Defense
- Totem of Tanae - Damage Bonus, Regeneration Self, Coord Self
- Totem of Volkama - Weapon Mastery, Endurance Self, Quick Self
- Hand one of your 4 totems to Aun Shimauri at 46.7N 70.7W, which flags you to enter Palenqual's Cavern at 48.9N, 72.5W.
- If you have already handed him a totem, this will reflag you and the totem will be returned.
- Warning: Be sure you have at least 10,000 pyreals or a C or higher trade note before you enter the dungeon because you need to buy a weapon.
- Enter the dungeon, and find your way down until you end up in a room with Aun Kerehanua, an NPC shopkeeper.
- Note: This can be a confusing dungeon, see the map for help.
- Purchase the weapon of your choice (10,000p), they are attuned.
- Combine your remaining 3 totems to create a triple totem, then attach it to your base weapon to create a Living Weapon!
- You can combine the totems in 6 different ways. To get the desired result, the sequence of combining the totems is important:

Lore & Dialog
Speaking with Aun Shimauri
- Aun Shimauri tells you, "Wharu take the Hea! They have stolen our precious totems. If you come across any Hea, you may dispatch them with the Aun's blessings. And if you should find one of our totems on them, bring it to me and I shall confide some of our secrets to you."
- Aun Shimauri tells you, "We alone among the Tonk have been blessed by Palenqual. In her wrath against Wharu, she has given us the weapons that live to fight against him. Find one of our totems on the Hea, and I will reward you with the friendship of the Aun."
Handing a Totem to Aun Shimauri
- You give Aun Shimauri Totem of Volkama.
- Aun Shimauri tells you, "Thank you, traveler. You have proven your friendship to the Aun. Now...Curses on the Hea and their thieving ways! If they had not stolen our totems, I would be able to reward you myself. But...I shall have to do second best. Here is a history I have written that explains Palenqual's gift of living weapons to us."
- Aun Shimauri gives you Aun Shimauri's Instructions.
- Aun Shimauri tells you, "Furthermore, I shall grant you permission to enter Palenqual's Caverns, where Kerehanua is waiting to help you create one of these weapons for yourself. Kerehanua's a chary old skinflint, so I wouldn't be surprised if he charged you a little bit for his weapons. Don't worry--his heart's in the right place. For now--seek out the visage of Tonkamu on the northern side of Wharu's Ridge, and you will find our hiding place."
- You give Aun Shimauri Totem of Volkama.
- Aun Shimauri tells you, Thank you, <Player Name>, friend of the Aun. You are continually proving your loyalty to us. You may keep this for your own use, and of course, Aun Kerehanua would be happy to greet you in Palenqual's Caverns should you wish to purchase another weapon from him.
- Aun Shimauri gives you Totem of Volkama.
Speaking with Aun Kerehanua
- Aun Kerehanua tells you, "Sorry about making you come this far...but we can't be giving away our prized secrets to just ANYONE. Besides, if the Hea knew of my whereabouts, they'd kidnap me in a second."
- Aun Kerehanua tells you, "The weapons I sell will only gain their full magical potential once they are fused with one of our sacred triple totems. If you ever create one for yourself, you may wield it with our blessings. Remember always that the Aun have extended their friendship to you."
- Aun Kerehanua tells you, "These caverns have been overrun by vicious beasts and mercenaries since they were given to us. I'm surprised you made it this far."
- Aun Kerehanua tells you, "This is all wrong, friend! You're supposed to come here and buy something from ME! But nonetheless, I'm sure I'll find some use for this...gets awfully boring in here all by myself."
- Aun Kerehanua tells you, "Perfect. I hope you've chosen your totems well--fused with the proper triple totem, this weapon will be a powerful ally to you. And if you've forgotten how to finish its creation, may I suggest that you purchase Aun Shimauri's tome? He's giving them away for free..but I, for one, have my children to think about."
- Aun Kerehanua tells you, "The weapons I sell will only gain their full magical potential once they are fused with one of our sacred triple totems. If you ever create one for yourself, you may wield it with our blessings. Remember always that the Aun have extended their friendship to you."
- The two totems fit together perfectly.
Combining the Totems together
- The two totems fit together perfectly.
- The three totems fit together perfectly.
- The totem and the <weapon> joins together perfectly.
Retired Text
- Aun Imeitanua tells you, "Sorry about making you come this far, but we can't be giving away our prized secrets to just ANYONE...besides, if the Hea knew of my whereabouts, they'd kidnap me and my brother in a second."
- Aun Imeitanua tells you, "Now, don't forget--this weapon will only gain it's full magical potential once you fuse it with one of our sacred totems. Wield it with our blessings...and remember that the Aun have extended their friendship to you. I'm afraid that after you leave this place, you'll not be able to return to visit me for a month or so--the Hea are ever vigilant, and we must do our best to keep this place a secret from them. You should take care to leave this place as soon as possible--for should the worst befall you you as you leave our hiding place, you will not be able to return."
