General
- As of the Secrets of the Apostates (May) patch, you no longer need to do the Portal Space Research Quest to gain access to Crystalline Crag or the dungeon.
- This quest is a culmination of 6 separate quests. Quests for the Aggregate Crystalline Shard, Crystalline Shards, Rare Crystalline Shards, the Large Aggregate Crystalline Shard, the Giant Aggregate Crystalline Shard, and the Progenitor Ingot can all be completed separately and are on their own timers.
Walk Through
- From the Crystalline Crag drop, speak to Tokashi Ando at 14.6S 62.2W to flag for the quest.
Crystalline Shards (50+)
- Kill various wisps throughout the Crystalline Crag and its dungeons.
- Return them to Tokashi Ando in for 50,000 xp each.
- Note: There is no pickup timer, they are giveable.
Rare Crystalline Shards (50+)
- On the Crag, and inside the dungeon, there are randomly spawning Crystal (Object)s. Use the crystal to spawn a pack of various wisps.
- Once you've killed the spawn, search their corpses for randomly spawning Rare Crystalline Shards.
- Once you collect 10 rare shards, return them to Tokashi Ando for up to 75,000,000 xp (20% of next level capping at level 156+). 20hr timer on turn in.
Aggregate Crystalline Shard (70+)
- Enter the Crystalline Portal dungeon at 17.0S 61.2W.
- Once inside, find and kill an Aggregate Crystalline Wisp. Loot an Aggregate Crystalline Shard from its corpse and return it to Tokashi Ando for up to 75,000,000 xp (20% of next level capping at level 156+) and the title of Crystalline Adventurer.
- Note: This shard has a 6-Day pick-up timer.
Large Aggregate Crystalline Shards (90+)
- Enter the Crystalline Portal dungeon at 17.0S 61.2W.
- Go to the bottom of the dungeon and take the 90+ Crystalline Portal.
- Once inside, find and kill an Intense Aggregate Crystalline Wisp. Loot a Large Aggregate Crystalline Shard from its corpse and return it to Tokashi Ando for up to 100,000,000 xp (20% of next level capping at level 168+) and the title of Frozen Fighter.
- Note: This shard has a 6-Day pick-up timer.
Giant Aggregate Crystalline Shards (110+)
- Enter the Crystalline Portal dungeon at 17.0S 61.2W.
- Go to the bottom of the dungeon and take the 90+ Crystalline Portal.
- Go to the bottom of the dungeon and take the 110+ Crystalline Portal.
- Once inside, find and kill an Intense Aggregate Crystalline Wisp. Loot a Giant Aggregate Crystalline Shard from its corpse and return it to Tokashi Ando for up to 125,000,000 xp (20% of next level capping at level 178+) and the title of Burning Soul.
- Note: This shard has a 6-Day pick-up timer.
Progenitors' Lair
- Enter the Crystalline Portal dungeon at 17.0S 61.2W.
- Go to the bottom of the dungeon and take the 90+ Crystalline Portal.
- Go to the bottom of the dungeon and take the 110+ Crystalline Portal.
- Go to the bottom of the dungeon and take the 130+ Crystalline Portal.
- The dungeon is more or less symmetrical, with Intense Voltaic and Corroding Wisps added, along with Ancient Golems.
- Speak to the Shade of Ja'qu located in the center of the dungeon. Then hit the 2 levers in the room with him.
- He will give you two kills tasks. You must complete both these tasks in order to access the Progenitors above.
- One to kill 25 Intense Corroding Crystalline Wisps and Intense Incalescent Crystalline Wisps.
- One to kill 25 Intense Shivering Crystalline Wisps and Intense Voltaic Crystalline Wisps.
- He will give you two kills tasks. You must complete both these tasks in order to access the Progenitors above.
- Enter one of the doors that opened to the North or South. Either door is fine, only difference is the South hallways lead toward Acid/Fire Wisps and the North hallways lead toward Frost/Lightning Wisps. Kill all the wisps along the way to complete the kill tasks.
- Go up a couple levels until you find a room with two kinds of wisps (either Acid/Fire or Frost/Lightning) and a lever door in the middle of the wall in front of you with two hallways on either side of it.
- Go through one of the hallways and use the lever you find at the end right before the bridge.
- Go back to the room with the lever door and go through the other hallway on the other side of the lever door until you find another lever. Use the lever and return to the lever door which should now be open.
- Go through and use the lever on the other side of the door. That lever will open up the doors to 3 of the Progenitors you need to kill.
- Note: You must have completed the kill task assigned by Ja'qu to activate the levers (25 Acid/Fire Wisps or 25 Frost/Lightning Wisps). The kill task needed corresponds to the wisps in the lever room. If you haven't completed the task you will get the message: "There is no reaction.".
- If you have completed the task the lever will say: "The lever responds to your touch.".
- Kill the 3 Progenitors and loot their Progenitor Crystals.
- Note: After you have the crystals if you have completed the other kill task you can simply jump around the bridges to get to the other lever to access the other 3 Progenitors. This just avoids the run around and lever work of the next steps. It only works if you already have completed both kill tasks though (and you have to have some jumping proficiency of course).
- Run back down one level the way you came and make a circle around until you find another way up that will bring you to a similar room with the other two kinds of elemental wisps and lever door. Do the same thing here you did in the previous room to access the 3 other Progenitors.
- Once you have the 6 Progenitor Crystals (Fire, Frost, Acid, Lightning, Shadow, Spectral) combine them into the Progenitor Ingot and return it to Ja'qu. Your reward is up to 150mil XP (25% of next level capping at level 176+) and the title of Beginning's End.
- Note: The Progenitor Crystals are on a 6-day pickup timer.
- Once you complete the quest you will be able to use the lever in front of the door just north of Ja'qu (previously it will have said "There is no reaction."). Go through the door it opens and it will lead you to the 20th Crystal Marker and exits (no portal) outside to the large crater near the Crystalline Crag at 15.5S, 65.2W.
Crystalline Array Fragment
- Open the Essence Locks in the Facility. (See Marker Crystals}
- You will need to activate all 4 Essence Locks per kill of the Array. Be prepared to run back through the dungeon if you have a group of more than 4.
- Use the Essence Lock in the Crater to spawn a Crystalline Essence Array.
- The Array spawns with 6 Crystalline Array Satellites and many many Crystalline Wisps.
- The Array has huge health but has no regen. However, the Wisps that spawn heal it extremely quickly. The Wisps are linked to the Satellites, and will die if the Satellites are killed.
- The best route is to kill the Satellites first. Archers can go full speed on whatever they attack. You will have about 60-90 seconds before the Satellites respawn.
- The Array is extremely difficult, if not impossible to destroy alone.
- Once the Array is dead, loot the Crystalline Array Fragment (4 drop per kill), and return it to Tokashi Ando for up to 150,000,000xp (20% of next level capping at level 187+) and a Braced Mana Forge Key.
