Old Patches

In general yeah, keep the formatting the same as it appeared originally, but it's not essential. You can enclose the link in nowiki tags, however as soon as I get #tag working it won't be necessary and dead links will automatically appear as plain text instead of as a link as they do now. For teaser images, move them to the teaser images section of the announcements page rather than including them in the body of the teaser. But you can still include a table when needed, just substitute {{!}} for pipes ( | ). For tables of data though it can be easier to make a page for the table and transclude it, like was done here. But the templates are meant to be useful, if things get more complicated with them than they are worth for any particular page it's better to just use manual formatting, I'm in the process of making a section at the bottom of Archive of Internet Article Template for that (along with all the other template pages).

Even though they may not have standardized sections, feel free to add anything else to the announcements page that fits, just give it a new section. For example the additional sections on Announcements - 2004/03 - Across the Vast Divide. But some things won't fit in and should be a separate page with Category:Turbine, one of it's subcategories, or Category:Internet Lore Article. --Tlosk 13:08, 8 April 2009 (CDT)

Quest Guides

Hey Tiger. I see you have been putting together a lot of guides for older quests. You are using the older quest guide template for them. The new template code is located here: Quest Guide Template, with an example here: Frore. If you want to continue using the older template, that is fine - any guide is better than none - but those pages will have to be updated later to fit the new template, so it'd save time later to start off with the new one. thanks. --An Adventurer 17:40, 21 March 2009 (CDT)

Great work on the material you've been adding. The templates are new and we're all using them for the first time now so if anything doesn't work as you expect it to let me know, we're still tweaking them (in a couple days once all the kinks have been worked out we'll be releasing a new version of the swiss tool that will include the new templates. --Tlosk 08:43, 22 March 2009 (CDT)

Hello, welcome to the Wiki. To help us keep the wiki cleaned up, please Page Templates when creating articles, and proper naming formats and image sizes when adding/updating images:

  • Live Images must be named Article Name Live.jpg (JPG image, Case Sensitive), and are 200x300px, 300x300px, or 300x400px exactly.
  • Stats Panel Images must be named Article Name.jpg (JPG image, Case Sensitive), and are typically 300x400px or 300x300px for short items. Longer items are 300x???px (depending on length).
  • Icon Images must be named Article Name Icon.png (PNG image, Case Sensitive), and are 32x32px exactly.

Note: To help you easily create images of the proper names and formats, please download our Wiki Swiss Tool. Among other things, the Wiki Swiss Tool includes the ability to crop images to many of the Wiki-Standard sizes and formats. Check it out!

Thanks again for your contributions! --Atarax 10:53, 12 February 2009 (CST)
