Quest Overview

Quest that covers the plight of Candeth Martine, a member of the Exploration Society who was captured during a battle between the Mosswarts and Banderlings.

Walk Through

Banderling Mace Shaft

Optional: Speak to Olivier Rognath at 17.5N 63.3E in Eastham.

  1. Make your way to the Banderling Conquest Dungeon west of Sawato at 29.0S, 50.5E.
  2. From the drop, head south at the T junction into a room with two exits, take the south exit if you want the lore item A Battered Leather Journal, otherwise head west until you reach a large room with a ramp down.
  3. Ignore this room and head west again and down a ramp, now head south until you reach an area with rocks and the Banderling Mace Shaft on the floor. Take the shaft and head down the ramp to the surface portal.

Banderling Mace Head

  1. Now go to Al-Arqas and run to the Mosswart Maze at 25.2S, 19.4E or take the Mosswart Maze portal in the east wing of the Facility Hub.
  2. From the drop point take the first right and head north along the corridor hugging the left wall if necessary.
  3. Keep heading north east past the surface portal and you will come to an area with two Goldenback Tuskers and a Banderling Mace Head on the floor. Take the mace head and run back to the surface portal.
  4. Combine the mace head with the shaft to make a Banderling Ceremonial Weapon, return it to Olivier Rognath for the Mace of the Explorer. You can also let him examine your journals for additional lore.

Olivier Rognath tells you, "What a find! This is the shaft of a unique Banderling Ceremonial Weapon. They use it in many of their tribal rituals, although for unknown purposes. If you can find the head of this weapon, and then find a way to reattach the weapon, I would be most interested! Please come see me! The last I heard the head was in some sort of Maze a ways off east from Uziz."

Olivier Rognath tells you, "Ahhh....fascinating. I believe this is a part of a rare Ceremonial Weapon, highly prized by Banderling tribes. For what reason, no one knows; it's the cutting edge of Banderling Studies. If only you had the shaft as well. The last I heard it was in a banderling dungeon far west from Sawato."

Olivier Rognath tells you, "Hello! If you journey to the Banderling Conquest dungeon far west from Sawato, and bring me back the mace shaft, I may be able to give you some more information."

Olivier Rognath tells you, "My word, I am speechless! Well, not speechless, but certainly amazed! This is the first Banderling Ceremonial Weapon we have found intact. I must send this on to the Society at once. There may even be an Explorership in it for me. In return for this artifact, let me present to you this quality weapon. It will serve you in good stead for much of your adventuring career."

Olivier Rognath tells you, "Oh my. This is certainly distressing. But tremendously exciting. I almost envy him! To be able to observe them this closely...I, too, have never heard of Banderlings and Mosswarts coming to blows. I shall have to further ponder what this means. And I will have to forward this news on to the Society. If you come across any further word of the whereabouts of Sir Martine, I would be most desperate to learn of it. The last I heard he was spotted somewhere near Uziz."

A Banderling Ceremonial Weapon! I am most amazed. If I could get my hand on such a weapon, it would be an invaluable find! I wonder what is behind all these machinations. Is it possible the Mosswarts are acting on their own? Strange are the wonders of Dereth. And whatever happened to Sir Martine? Maybe there are clues on the new Jungle Island? I have heard rumors sighting him there."

Warden tells you, "This task has multiple parts, you will want to return here after finishing a dungeon to take the next portal."
Warden tells you, "Venture into the Banderling Conquest Dungeon and the Mosswart Maze. From each you'll recover part of a mace."
Warden tells you, "Once you have found both parts of the mace combine them and take the Banderling Ceremonial Weapon to Olivier Rognath in the middle of Eastham."
Warden tells you, "Return to me with the Mace of the Explorer that he gives you and I'll see to it that you are rewarded."

You allow Warden to examine your Mace of the Explorer.
Warden tells you, "You've done well to complete this task. In your adventures of Dereth you'll often need to travel great distances to complete a single goal."
Warden tells you, "A reward is in line."
You've earned 550,000 experience.
