Quest Overview

A very nice, fun and simple quest for new characters. Originally restricted to low levels now all levels can get the cool butterfly effect necklace.

Walk Through

1. Make your way to Bluespire. To get there, take the portal from Lytelthorpe at 1.2N, 54.0E. Portal gems to Lytelthorpe can be found at most mage vendors.
2. When in Bluespire run over to 39.8N, 76.4W and speak to Aun Papileona. He will tell you to retrieve his amulet from the nearby Shrine just south at 38.9N, 76.3W.
3. From the drop make your way south east through the metal doors into the large misty room.
4. Ignore the the side rooms and go straight south down the ramp. The side rooms are dead all ends full of Carenzi Pouchlings (Pouchlings drop pelts which can be given in for 500xp, a Good Healing Kit and a Lead Pea to Merlonna Farel the Collector at Bluespire)
5. Go either left or right at the split to end up in a large room with Carenzi Sentries, Pouchlings and Aun Papileona's Chest.
6. Kill all the Carenzi and loot Aun Papileona's Key from one of the four Sentries.
7. When you have defeated the Sentry that drops the key butterflies will appear above the chest.
8. Use the key on the chest and take Aun Papileona's Amulet. Bring it to Aun Papileona in return for Raeta's Necklace.
9. If you let Aun Papileona examine the necklace he will grant you the title Carenzi Slayer.

Lore & Dialog

Aun Papileona says, "I know that if I were able to purge those loathsome beasts from my shrine, Raeta would bless it with her presence again."

Aun Papileona tells you, "Greetings, traveler. Raeta's migrations are such a beautiful mystery of nature. But where she goes, I must follow. I have moved my shrine to again be near her presence."

Aun Papileona tells you, "It is unfortunate that my misfortune seems to have followed me in turn. I have a grave favor to ask you. In his jealousy, the anima Carenzi has infested the beautiful shrine I built for Raeta with his own creatures. I tried to route them myself, but the horrid beasts nearly ripped me to pieces and ate the key to my chest! Until my shrine is cleansed of his defiling presence, Raeta will not return!"

Aun Papileona tells you, "I locked my amulet inside my chest--if you bring it to me as proof that you have driven Carenzi away, I will reward you with the title of Carenzi Slayer. Follow Volkama's riverbanks to the south, and you'll find my shrine."

Aun Papileona tells you, "Incidentally, I would be careful going past my old grotto if I were you--a motley group of Hea have moved in and made the place their own. They had an interesting-looking chest with them...but I was in too much of a hurry to follow Raeta on her migration to inquire further."

You give Aun Papileona Aun Papileona's Amulet.

Aun Papileona tells you, "Wonderful! Raeta graces my shrine once again. Take this necklace. Whenever you wear it, Raeta will bestow her grace upon you. If you wish to take on the title of Carenzi Slayer, give me back the necklace. I will return it and grant you the title."

Aun Papileona gives you Raeta's Necklace.

You allow Aun Papileona to examine your Raeta's Necklace.

Aun Papileona tells you, "I now grant you the title of Carenzi Slayer. Again, thank you."

7 Day Timer

Aun Papileona tells you, "Thank you, but Carenzi has not yet returned to befoul my garden. I can only hope that he will not return a week from now."

Notes

• During the Pillars Made of Sand event, the Shrine was moved closer to Aun Papileona and the 1 - 15 level requirement was removed.
