Creating the Alchemy Portal Gems

To begin, speak to Ignatz the Affected at 42.6N, 33.8E in Holtburg. Ignatz the Affected will hand you a Treatise on the Uses of Alchemical Portal Gems, which contains the recipe to create them. You will need to run the Shadowfire Stone Quest to obtain a Charged Stone Infuser to complete the last few steps of the creation process.

Crafting Steps

1. Use a Mortar and Pestle on a Lifestone Shard to create 10 Powdered Lifestone Shards.
2. Use a Crucible on the Powdered Lifestone Shards to create a Crucible with Powdered Lifestone Shard.
3. Use the Crucible with Powdered Lifestone Shard on Yarrow to create Powdered Lifestone Shard and Yarrow Crucible.
4. Use Aqua Vitae on the Powdered Lifestone Shard and Yarrow Crucible to create Treated Powdered Lifestone Shard and Yarrow Crucible.
5. Use the Treated Powdered Lifestone Shard and Yarrow Crucible on a Gem to create a Dull Portal Summoning Gem.
6. Use Abrasive Polish on the Dull Portal Summoning Gem to create an Inert Portal Summoning Gem.
7. Hand a Charged Stone Infuser to Ignatz the Affected. He will hand you an Artifice Extraction Tool.
8. Use the Artifice Extraction Tool on the trophy from the quest to which you would like to make your portal to create a Beacon Gem.
9. Use the Beacon Gem on the Inert Portal Summoning Gem to create your portal gem.

   You imprint the location onto the gem.
