Overview

This is the first quest in either the Ordina Rossu Morta series of quests.

Walkthrough & Notes

1. Enter Dericost Ruin at 74.2N, 74.2W near Westwatch.
2. Follow right hand rule until you come into a large room with 3 ramps.
3. Go south and left hand rule through a series of rooms and down a few ramps, till a room with an exit N, and a ramp to the S, go down the ramp. Keep going S until you find the Ancient Discoveries book on the floor.
4. Backtrack and go N through 3 rooms. The fourth room has the Dericost Ruin Key on the floor. Pick it up.
5. Go N out of the room, next 4way right (N again), next intersection right (N) through 3 rooms, exit left in last room, N through 2 rooms, in last room exit left (West) until you find a locked door.
6. Use the key on the door, and retrieve the Dericost Tome which spawns on the floor in the middle W room near the portal.
7. Bring the items to either the Grand Knight of Sanamar or the Grand Mother of Silyun, depending on which faction you wish to join

Defecting from the Rossu Morta

1. Although officially a Rossu Morta quest, you can defect and help the Whispering Blade instead by bringing the heart to the Grand Mother of Silyun. You will receive the same rewards as you would if completing the 1st quest in the Rossu Morta quest line (Eleonora's Heart Quest).
   • Note: The Grand Mother will not reward you for Ancient Discoveries, and if you are a Friend of Silyun, neither with the Grand Knight.

Opening Dialog

Grand Knight tells you, "You're new to Sanamar, are you not? If you desire to prove your loyalty to the King, I have a task you may find interesting."

Grand Knight tells you, "The King has been informed of an ancient tome which lies in a ruined underground city. He dispatched a company of knights to the ruins, but they were repelled by the beasts within. The craven dogs spread tales of ghosts and undead before I had them executed for cowardice."

Grand Knight tells you, "I need someone to enter the ruins and retrieve this tome. If you do this for me, I may have more tasks for you in the future. Of course, if you fail or otherwise betray me, then I'll have nothing to do with you ever again."

Grand Knight tells you, "You can find the ruins near the outpost of Westwatch at 74.2N 74.2W. I expect to hear from you soon."

Grand Knight tells you, "But know this - the Grand Mother of Silyun also seeks this tome. Complete this task for me and she will have nothing more to do with you. Though, why you would want to socialize with those damnable rebels is beyond me."

Handing in Dericost Tome

You give Grand Knight Dericost Tome.

Grand Knight tells you, "You have done well. Feel free to stay in Sanamar as long as you like."

You've earned 30,000 experience.

Grand Knight gives you Friend of Sanamar Token.

Handing in Friend of Sanamar Token

You give Grand Knight Friend of Sanamar Token.

Grand Knight tells you, "May your loyalty to the glory of Sanamar be apparent to all you meet."

Handing in Ancient Discoveries

You give Grand Knight Ancient Discoveries.

Grand Knight tells you, "Ah, Sir Binwas. A finer warrior have I seldom met. He deserves not the humiliation he suffered at the hands of that wench."

Grand Knight grimaces with hatred.

Grand Knight tells you, "Eleonora deserved everything we did to her."

You've earned 7,500 experience.

Grand Mother tells you, "The King of Sanamar greatly desires this tome. He would reward you generously for it. And yet you bring it to us?"

Grand Mother tells you, "The Grand Knight would have you executed for this. I believe we have found a useful ally in you."

You've earned 30,000 experience.

Grand Mother gives you Friend of Silyun Token.

Handing in Ancient Discoveries

You allow Grand Mother to examine your Ancient Discoveries.

Grand Mother tells you, "Sir Binwas Loc. I told Eleonora she could not trust the loyalists. If only she had listened to me."

Update History

Throne of Destiny (expansion) Quest introduced. Learning From Experience XP reward for Ancient Discoveries increased from 5,000 to 7,500. XP reward for Dericost Tome increased from 20,000 to 30,000 The Quest for Freedom Repeat timer changed from 6 days to 20 hours.
