Quest Overview

• A group of Isparians were trapped beneath the earth and have been fighting the olthoi down there ever since. Scouts sent by Queen Elysa found their little underground town and you can retrace the Scouts' paths to get to the Olthoi Town found in the dungeon called the Catacombs of Opposition.
• The Olthoi Fighters there will craft Olthoi Weapons from the Olthoi parts and some mundane items you give them.

Walk Through

Getting to the Catacombs of Opposition

There are seven different dungeons you can start from to get to the Catacombs of Opposition. The dungeons all have different maps, different creatures, and different notes along the way that give different xp rewards.

Lair of Death

Level Requirement: 15+
Map:

Xp Reward for Note: 50,000

1. Run to the Lair of Death at 42.0N 58.1E.
   • Route:Use the Mountain Shortcut portal at 34.9N 56.0E near Arwic. Then run west to the dungeon.
2. Run down through the dungeon till you see the Deeper Catacombs portal. In front of the portal will be a Note from a Scout. Pick up the note and go through the portal.
3. Run down through the Deeper Catacombs until you come to the Catacombs of Opposition portal and go in. There are no items you need get in the Deeper Catacombs.

Olthoi Horde Nest (Colier)

Level Requirement: 20+

1. Run to the Olthoi Horde Nest - Colier at 55.8N, 43.5E.
   • Route:Take the Bleak Valley settlement portal from Arwic at 32.9N, 59.4E. Run Northeast to the dungeon.
2. Run down through the dungeon till you see the Deeper Catacombs portal.
3. Run down through the Deeper Catacombs until you come to the Catacombs of Opposition portal. In front of the portal will be a Note from a Scout. Pick up the note and go through the portal.

Crater Lair

Level Requirement: 30+

1. Run to Crater Lair at 70.6N, 12.7E.
   • Route:Take the Neydisa Castle portal in Holtburg and run Northwest to the dungeon.
2. Run down through the dungeon till you see the Deeper Catacombs portal (Level Restriction 30+).
3. Run down through the Deeper Catacombs until you come to the Catacombs of Opposition portal. In front of the portal will be four Note from a Scout. Pick up a note and go through the portal.

Olthoi Horde Nest (Bandit Castle)

Level Requirement: 30+

Xp Reward for Note: 200,000

1. Run to Olthoi Horde Nest - Bandit Castle at 64.3N, 52.8E.
   • Route #1:Take the Eotensfang Cottages settlement portal outside Arwic at 32.9N, 59.4E and run North to the Bandit Castle portal. From the drop run east to the dungeon at 64.3N, 52.8E.
   • Route #2:Use the Olthoi Lands Portal Device at your mansion until it portals you to the dungeon.
2. Run down through the dungeon till you see the Deeper Catacombs portal.
3. Run down through the Deeper Catacombs until you come to the Catacombs of Opposition portal. In front of the portal will be 3 Note from a Scout. Pick up a note and go through the portal.

Catacombs of Opposition

1. No matter which of the portals to the Catacombs of Opposition you take you will always land in the same spot. The drop is very hot with about 10 or so Olthoi Soldiers waiting for you.
   • If you want the Olthoi Atlatl then you should kill all the Soldiers and Guards in this area of the dungeon. They drop the two pieces you need to make the Atlatl.
2. Run down through the Catacombs of Oppression until you reach a large, open green room. You are now at the Olthoi Town.
3. Find Scout Luzumin Abigwei and talk with her to receive a A Note from a Scout.
4. Take the notes you got to the Royal Guard in Cragstone and turn them in for experience.

Small Olthoi Grubs

1. You can find several Small Olthoi Grubs in the Catacombs of Opposition.
2. From the big room with Ripper take the east passage and follow it all the way to a dead end. There will be 3 Grubs on the ground there.
3. Return to the Olthoi Town and give the Grubs to Pincer Danta in exchange for a Grub Bite.

Making the Olthoi Weapons

• In the Catacombs of Opposition many of the types of olthoi drop special trophies that can be given to the NPCs in the town in exchange for weapons.
• The Femur, Stab Claw, and Long Claw all have a 1 week timer on picking them up. However, the Crest has no timer (presumably because it can used to make two different weapons).
• The drop rates are all relatively high except for the Femur from the Olthoi Soldier which has an unusually low drop rate. Be prepared to spend well over an hour killing Soldiers for the Femur. if you're not lucky.
• A couple of the weapons require some mundane store bought items to be given to the NPC. You can buy these before you start the quest and it will save you the trouble of finding them off the olthoi.

Olthoi Atlatl

NPC: Pincer Danta

Parts:

• Olthoi Femur from Olthoi Soldier (Very Low Drop Rate!)
• Olthoi Stab Claw from Olthoi Guard
• Both Soldiers and Guards are found in the east and south tunnels from the big room with Ripper in it.

Olthoi Acid Katar

NPC: Nanoc, Basher of Bugs

Parts:

• Olthoi Crest from Olthoi Advance Guard
• File:Leather Gauntlets (Store) Icon.pngLeather Gauntlets (Store) from Olthoi Soldier (high drop rate) or purchased from Vendors.
• Advance Guards are found in the west tunnel from the big room with Ripper in it.
• Soldiers are found in the east and south tunnels from the big room with Ripper in it.
• Leather Gauntlets can also be purchased from any Vendor prior to starting the quest.

Acid Olthoi Axe

NPC: Narg

Parts:

• Olthoi Crest from an Olthoi Advance Guard
• Quarter Staff Purchased from Vendors.
• Advance Guards are found in the west tunnel from the big room with Ripper in it.
• A Quarter Staff can also be purchased from any Vendor prior to starting the quest.

Olthoi Spear

NPC: Teela

Parts:

• Olthoi Long Claw from an Olthoi Vanquisher
• Vanquishers are found by jumping into the pit near Rat Nose then taking the west passage and stay to the right until you find them.

Royal Guard tells you, "Hail, adventurer! There are dire events unfolding beneath the soil of Dereth and Queen Elysa requires your aid in uncovering the details. This is of great import and has delayed the Alliance she has strived to form. The Queen had dispatched scouts to a number of Olthoi lairs but they have gone missing. If you were able to go investigate these lairs you would have the Queen's gratitude."
Royal Guard tells you, "The scouts were ordered to leave documentation of their findings as they progressed- if they have been captured we might yet find these. If you should come upon any documents or notes the scouts had left please bring them to me and I shall reward you."

The big man does not speak, only looks at you with eyes that seem no longer human.

Rat Nose tells you, "Hey, they call me Rat Nose. Because I bit off a rat's nose once. None of your business, but I was hungry if ya must know. Or maybe I just wanted to. Anyway, I'm glad ya brought weapons."

Narg tells you, "We been here for years fightin' off the bugs. We kills 'em when they sleep sometimes. And sometimes they does the same to us."
Narg tells you, "Hey, ya bring me a Olthoi crest and I make ya a fine axe. Nothin' busts bug shell like bug shell, I always say. Need some wood too though, and that's rare here. An old quarterstaff might do if ya got one. A plain, old wood quarterstaff."

Narg tells you, "Yeah this should do but I still need a quarterstaff, if ya take my meaning."

Narg tells you, "Yeah this is good. I'll cut it down. I get to keep the rest, see?"
Narg fashions an axe from the materials. It is crude but sharp.

Narg tells you, "I already made ya a axe. Why you not out there kickin' chitin an' takin' claws?"

Teela tells you, "Well, honey, it sure is nice to know there's others fighting the Olthoi with us here. Can you really kill 'em with that? I use a nice spear myself. Goes through bug shell like butter. Of course, it's been years since I've tasted butter... Get me a bug's long claw and I might make you one. Make sure the long claw is nice and pointy. And freshly killed."

Pincer Danta tells you, "I made a nice atlatl out of pincers. Seeing as how you're here fighting the bugs with us, if you get me a bug's stabbing claw I could carve it into an atlatl for you. Also need an Olthoi femur. That's the top part of the leg, in case you don't know. You been around Olthoi as much as us, you get to know a lot about 'em. Femur and a stabbing claw, that's what I need."
Pincer Danta tells you, "Say, got any grub bites?"

Pincer Danta tells you, "You found a stabbing claw. Maybe you outsiders aren't so dumb after all. I'll need a femur too, like I said..."

Pincer Danta turns the grub inside out and prepares a delicacy with practiced skill.

Pincer Danta tells you, "Want a grub bite? They're tasty and about all we get to eat. Okay, maybe not so tasty."

Mandible tells you, "Yeah that's right we tear 'em up. Never did find no way outa here though. Portal disappeared, got us trapped way back when. We got good at fightin' the bugs. There's more of the bugs now, though. Guess you got down here in your fancy armor. Well, maybe you ain't leavin' either. Maybe we ain't leavin' too. Kinda cozy down here."
Mandible tells you, "Ooo hah! I love the smell of burnin' chitin in the morning. But down here ya never know when it's morning."
Mandible tells you, "Yeah, I'm tough but I sure like to eat grub bites. Nothin' better than grub bites. 'cept maybe the foot races we used to have back home. Those was fun. Here we just run from bugs. But then we turn and ambush 'em. Yeah that's right we tear 'em up."
