I'm using a program based upon David Simpson's code available at http://www.ugcs.caltech.edu/~dsimpson/. I started working on it a few months ago, but got distracted. With the current exploration stuff, I decided to look at it again. It's still very much a work in progress -- for example, I just figured out which types of terrain are snow covered right now so that I could generate the snowy map.

Here are some sample maps. All data is fresh from this patch, and it should be nearly complete. The big ones probably are transparent where I don't have current data.

This runs on Mac OS X -- if you have a Mac, I can give you the program. --Widgeon 12:17, 26 February 2009 (CST)
