FinallySo yes, I finally registered here so I can contribute here as well. But then I reformatted my computer, and I lost the password I used for the original account, User:Ling Mei, so I had to make a new one, lol. Ling♥Mei 06:21, 11 November 2008 (CST) |
Coordinates are included, in the 00.0N, 00.0E format, in the names of all minor points of interest. This is mostly because of there being 100s of things like drudge camps, mosswart houses, lugian gatherings, golem shrines, standing stones, and so on. So I changed the obsidian golem vent to reflect this pattern. While it may be the only obsidian golem vent in the game, it is still only a minor point of interest, so it follows the format of all other minor POIs.
As for the heartland portal entry - there are multiple heartland portals in the game. The name Heartland Portal should be, and now is, reserved for the portal itself, while Heartland is reserved for the location it takes you to.
The Obsidian Node Pyramid and Aerbax's citadel are both unique POIs and also quest related. Aerbax's citadel is also major POI.
I understand it may seem arbitrary, but this system arose out of my need for unique article names when adding POIs to Holtburg. The coordinates are listed before the name of POI because on town and geographical area articles, where POIs are listed, it looks better since coordinates are all the same character length long.
As for searching for POIs on the wiki - First, people can still search by name. They may not be taken directly to the POI, but if they search for the correct title they should still get it in the search results. Second, people can easily locate POIs by looking at the listings of nearby towns or in the geographical area listings. Last, people can search for POIs by the things they know to appear there. For example, on the Obsidian Golem page, clicking the locations link brings you to Special:Whatlinkshere/Obsidian_Golem, where 69.8S, 59.7W - Obsidian Golem Vent is now listed. --An Adventurer 11:48, 11 December 2008 (CST)
