As of the Picking up the Pieces patch, the chest produces Armor, Weapons, Magic Casters, Clothing and Jewelry, usually in the mid-tier range, with the occasional upper-tier item. Items with minor cantrips are quite common and will be found pretty much every time you unlock the chest. Items with major cantrips are considerably less common.
