Forum:Of Contracts and Quest Names

Maybe we should create redirects for names associated with contracts to the wiki quest page. For instance, Contract for Artifact Collection refers to Moarsman Shrine Artifacts. People may start searching for contract names rather than our quest names. So, i was thinking we should redirect Artifact Collection to the wiki quest page. That, or updated our quest page with the name turbine uses and redirect the old name. Thoughts?

At the very least, yes, if we know a quest's official name we should redirect it to our guide. And IMO if possible we should use the official name. For example, we moved Burun Kings to Clutch of Kings when the name was revealed. However, there are some contracts that won't work. Contract for Vaeshok, for example, or Contract for Wight Blade Sorcerers. Vaeshok is already our entry for the creature, and Wight Blade Sorcerer Kill Task fits with out naming scheme for that type of quest.

Yeah, I also say rename the guides using the official names if possible - that would work nicely with all the contracts.

I meant to have a stab at this actually when the contracts were first introduced, but I started deleting all the old (quest) redirects that were appearing in the search bar for some reason and then forgot hehe. --Ash (Arkalor) 00:08, 16 July 2011 (EST)

gonna start working on this slowly, maybe we should create a news post for it or something... --Immortalbob 01:58, 10 May 2012 (EST)

as long as redirects are set up it shouldn't cause any problems. Also, I dont know if you know about it but as an admin you can use the replace text tool, it really helps with this sort of thing :) Its on Special pages under Wiki data and tools. --An Adventurer 02:34, 10 May 2012 (EST)

Must be a Bureaucrats only thing, i don't see it... --Immortalbob 21:31, 10 May 2012 (EST)
