Is there any chance in the near future to see home?

Asked: 2000.12.31
Name: Oliver de Vannes
Question Title: Is there any chance in the near future to see home?
Category: Backstory
Question: I for one am interested heavily in Ispar, I even write in that world, and yet, you keep it mainly a mystery. Now with the Illservian banished, what is the Isparian's purpose here? And that lame "apology" from Asheron doesn't suit me. I want outta Dereth and into Ispar.

Answer: No chance at all, for RL reasons as well as backstory. Ispar would be its own game, not an AC expansion, and I don't see that as even remotely likely. Attempting to do even a bit of it would be a massive undertaking, far beyond the bounds of our budget.

The coming of Isparians (and Lugians, and Tumeroks/Banderlings/Mosswarts/Drudges, and...) was an unforseen side effect of the Sundering, the powerful spell he cast to send his people to safety. If you want philosophical reasons for your presence here, Asheron is the wrong man to go to. He's not a master of fate, and doesn't know any better than you.

Asheron has spent most of the last ten years trying to find a portal back to Ispar. Give the man a break. ^_^
