Is it possible to implement shielding to defend against War Magic?

Question Title: Is it possible to implement shielding to defend against War Magic?
Category: Combat
Question: Many times it is frustrating for Melee-Class players to take damage from High-Magic creatures, such as The Undead, Virindi, Golems, Skeletons, and Shadows. Would it be possible to implement some kind of reduction in damage to absorb some of the blow? If I had a metal shield in front of me, I'd expect it to save some of the damage from the Flame VI spell fired at me....taken, I'd still get some of the damage from splash/heat off the shield, but I wouldn't be extra-tasty-cripsy.

Thanks, Turbine!

Answer: No, changing a system as fundamental as this, this late in the game won't happen.
