Elemental Weapons

Question Title: Elemental Weapons
Category: Graphics
Question: Is the any particular reason elemental weapons still have blades? Would it be possiable to remove the 'blade' but keep the partical effect creating a more realistic effect. At the beginning I was confused because IMO a metal sword that happens to be flaming would do both slashing AND fire damage rather than just fire. It would be cool if the elemental weapons simply had a more solid partical effect creating a 'blade' from the element. The handle would have to be left as is, of course, because we have to have something to hold onto :)

Answer: Particles operate differently for various framerates. If you had a high framerate, making a blade of flame would look better than if your framerate was lower. The look would not be as convincing.

Also, for some elements, (lightning, etc) the effect is just one spark on the blade.

It would be a cool idea for some new weapons, but don't look for the old ones to change.
