Question Title: Can you explain the difficulties of Buildings in laymans terms?

Question: There were a few public comments about the difficulty and length of time it takes to develop large outdoor structures for the AC engine. What makes a castle like Bandit Castle, or Neydisa or the new Lugian thing so hard to develop and integrate into the world?

PS examples might help clarify :)

Answer: I tried answering this question once before, but erased it when I realized there's no easy way to explain the complexities involved without a pretty good understanding of computer graphics problems, and a background in both software rendering (and sorting) and the way the internals of 3d hardware works..

So the best laymans terms I can think of is:

Making large castles is hard...
