- This massive tome, written by Master Armorer Jibril ibn Rashid, is a complex set of directions for the crafting of Shadow Armors. Written in the front cover is a note to the Viamontian Master Armorer, Iian di Alduressa.
Greetings to you,
This tome is a copy of the combined notes on the creation of the Shadow Armors, as researched by myself, Alean the Steel Forger, and Koga Hideki. Hopefully, the knowledge here will be of assistance to you in the creation of Shadow Armor in the manner of your people. To use this knowledge, you will need samples of the Crystal Shards and the Shadow Shards used in this process. Seek those from Alean, North of Eastham, and Koga, by the lake of Kara.
For this knowledge, all I ask of you are these two things: First, as you experiment with the information in this tome and learn, that you share your findings with myself and my compatriots. Second, that you do not deny those seeking your craft the creations you make with this knowledge.
By sending you this tome without speaking to you personally, I am taking on trust that that you will honor these humble requests. Hopefully, we can find the time to meet in person in the near future.
Notes Edit
- Previously obtained by giving A letter to Jibril ibn Rashid to Jibril ibn Rashid:
- You give Jibril ibn Rashid A letter to Jibril ibn Rashid.
- Jibril ibn Rashid tells you, "A letter for me?"
- Jibril ibn Rashid carefully reads the note.
- Jibril ibn Rashid tells you, "Hmmmm..."
- Jibril ibn Rashid tells you, "This is both a rare and risky opportunity. The skill of the Alduressa family is renowned through all of Ispar. And, historically, they have served only the royalty of Viamont. For one to be willing to act separate from Varicci is a rare thing indeed."
- Jibril ibn Rashid tells you, "Tell me about your meeting with this young Alduressa."
- You tell Jibril ibn Rashid about your discussion with Iian di Alduressa.
- Jibril ibn Rashid tells you, "Hmmm... It is a risk, but it is a worthy risk, and this young Alduressa seems genuine..."
- Jibril ibn Rashid pulls out a massive tome, quickly penning a long note into the front cover.
- Jibril ibn Rashid tells you, "Here, take this book to him, and tell him about the note in the cover. Let us hope that we do not come to regret this."
- Jibril ibn Rashid gives you Tome on the Metallurgy and Crafting of Shadow Armors.
- Give to Iian di Alduressa to obtain A letter to Alean the Steel Forger and A letter to Koga Hideki:
- You give Iian di Alduressa Tome on the Metallurgy and Crafting of Shadow Armors.
- Iian di Alduressa tells you, "Is this the response?"
- You tell Iian di Alduressa about the note in the front of the book.
- Iian di Alduressa reads the note carefully, and then quickly skims the tome, stopping at a couple of the illustrations momentarily. A smile slowly grows on his face.
- Iian di Alduressa tells you, "Amazing. The manner of crafting the Alloy used in creating these armors is absolutely amazing..."
- Iian di Alduressa tells you, "The note placed in the front of this text says I should request samples from the Aluvian and Sho Master Armorers. You have been kind to me once, may I ask your indulgence a second time?"
- You say, "yes"
- Iian quickly writes out two more letters.
- Iian di Alduressa tells you, "Take these letters to the two other Master Armorers. I've named each letter accordingly. Alean the Steel Forger can be found along the road North of Eastham, and Koga Hideki, according to this note, can be found along the lake below the town of Kara."
- Iian di Alduressa gives you A letter to Alean the Steel Forger.
- Iian di Alduressa gives you A letter to Koga Hideki.
- Iian di Alduressa tells you, "Bring back whatever response or items they send. Hopefully, they will also see the value of sharing our collective knowledge, and we can better our craft as a whole."
- The item description states this is 2 pages, the text entry here is 3.
