Question Title: | RE: how did the emphyreans lose? |
Category: | Backstory |
Question: | Its still a plot hole then....if this swarm of ungodly, impossible olthoi had been too tough for a civilization of level 700 mages that are casting level 25 spells and had 'uber' weapons better than ours...how did a rag tag group of humans make it all the way past their thousands of unified forces to get to the queen and slay her? |

Answer: | Two reasons. One, there was only one queen that made it across the sea to Dereth. On the mainland, where the Empyrean suffered 99% of their casualties, there where thousands upon thousands of them. Two, the Aluvians who rose against the Olthoi were in the unique position to discover how to evade their detection. By studying them up close and personal (read: being enslaved by them) for such an extended period, they were able to learn that by smearing themselves with the Queen's royal jelly, they could walk through their colonies unmolested. The Olthoi, remember, can barely see; they sense the world mostly through scent. So Elysa, Thorsten, and their band were able to sneak into the Queen's chamber, and you've seen The Phantom Menace... ^_^ |
