Question Title: | Is there an official stance on macroing? |
Category: | Character |
Question: | Personally trade skill macroing is fine by me, hell I did it. I spread it out over the evenings to let the skill go up. I also used a quick one to make a few fletch/cook/ or alchemy runs. Everyone benefited from those. I wonder what the stance is on the other macroes? The leveling a mage to 26+ in a mana pool macro? The perch in the acid vault and kill olthoi macro? Several meelee macroes that are around? (golem dungeon @ al-jalima) Several drain health macroes that are around? (folthid cellar) |

Answer: | The only official "stance" that I know of is that we don't ban for it. The first person to macro in AC (that I know of) was Jason Booth. He invented the Training Hall stuffed drudge macro (for that matter, he also invented the Disaster Maze drudge bridge drain macro). If macroing becomes a nuisance in certain well-trafficked areas (like the allegiance hall mana pools) we examine the problem to see how it can be resolved without nerfing the area for non-macroers. The obvious solution in allegiance halls is to remove the pools... that's not, however, a good solution. The pools are also beneficial to non-macroers. Suffice it to say that we examine macros strictly on a case by case basis. If you're not hurting or bothering anyone, macro away, and god bless you. |
