The Sundering

Along with the last of his surviving adept mages, Asheron Realaidain, casts the spell known as The Sundering, sending the last of his people, the Yalaini, into portal space as his home world was overrun by the Olthoi. With no chance of defeating the Olthoi hordes, the Lifestones that once bound the Yalaini to the world were shattered, and the last of the Yalaini were trapped within the void of portal space.

After the death of The One Queen (The Olthoi Queen) by Elysa Strathelar and Thorsten Cragstone, Asheron altered the Lifestones to be points of resurrection. However, the parts of the Lifestones that once bound the Yalaini, having been shattered during The Sundering, were separated, spread across the world and through portal space and were lost to time. It was not until the recovery of Valorian, a Yalaini Artifact Collector, by Asheron that the real magic of the Lifestone Shards was discovered…
