  Among the recovered Empyreans, originally lost during the Sundering and now brought back through the collection of the Lifestone Shards, was the Yalaini mage Lorthion who spent his lifetime refining the infusion of pure mana into Aetheria. He has crafted these gems to allow Derethians to perfect their own Aetheria in gratitude for his rescue from portal space.
