The Envoys are Coming!

As Jessica mentioned in her Transition Diary, Turbine will be taking over Customer Service for the Asheron's Call franchise on March 1st. What does this mean for you, the player?

Well, some things will change. The most obvious change is that your Urgent Assistance and Report Abuse calls in AC1, and Request Assistance calls in AC2, will no longer be answered by +Admins. Our team will be using the title of +Envoy, as we feel it better represents what the team members will be doing in the world – it means representative, ambassador, and intermediary. Envoys represent Turbine as far as Code of Conduct and content information is concerned, and Envoys also act as ambassadors by assisting players when they are having issues and representing their concerns and issues to the Dev Team and QA.

If they are not busy with calls, you may be able to find Envoys in the world, where you can chat with them or ask them questions. In AC1, you will be able to recognize them by their unique blue and green robes. In AC2, starting with the March event they will have glowing yellow robes. If you see one outdoors, he or she may have time to chat. If you see one in a dungeon, however, most likely he or she is working on a call and won't have time to chat with you.

Some things will not change. The Code of Conduct for both games (AC1 and AC2) will not be changing. AC1 players should look at the list of what the current Admins can and cannot do for you, halfway down the page here. The Envoys will be using these same guidelines.

Turbine's Envoys will officially take over at 12:01AM EST on March 1st, but it's possible that you could encounter one before then. As they complete their training and ramp up for the transition, our folk will be taking some of your calls on the live worlds. If you're talking to an Admin whose name you don't recognize, odds are it's one of our Envoys.

Expect to see more information on Turbine's support network over the next few weeks, and especially on March 1. We hope you look forward to our Envoys helping you with your in-game issues, because we're certainly looking forward to it!
