Defensive properties of one's "skin"

Asked: 2000.12.07
Name: Grimwell
Question Title: Defensive properties of one's "skin"
Category: Combat
Question: As a followup to the "How does the Armor spell work" question...

If Armor creates a last line of defense by giving your skin an armor rating, what are the protective qualities of skin against the various attacks. Average across the board, or varying like our friendly little critters out there?

How do the various protection spells play in? If I cast Armor Self VI and Bludgeon Protection Self VI, what is my armor rating against bludgeoning attacks? (unparalled?)

Summation: What are the "properties" of our skin prior to enchantment?
