Question: | I may be slightly offbase here, but would it not be possible to simply cut a chunk of mountain away and place a "building" facade using the same slope, elevation and texture as the surround landscape in it's place to simulate a cave? |

Answer: | Yes, something like that is possible, but there are quite a few problems with it including: Software and Hardware texturing are not the same, if the cave is going to be more than 24 meters in size, you have to make sure the outside is not potentially visable from the place where your cross the boundry, and most of all, it's extremely teadious work that can be only used one. We prefer to spend time on things that can be used many times over, as it gives you more bang for your buck. |
