Chapter 8: Forts Edit

Section 1 - Claiming a Fort Edit

There are two forts a Society can claim:

Northwatch Castle - 81.5n 25.0e (Celdiseth's Gem, Neydisa Castle, or Dagger Vale Settlement at 32.9n 59.6e from Arwic)
Freebooter Keep - 64.0s, 97.5e (From Freebooter Isle drop).

Below are restrictions for claiming a fort:

  • Must be PK to claim it
  • Your Society must not already have a Keep
  • Must be in a society to claim it

If no one has claimed the fort, you'll find a number of Sclavus and Moarsmen (of The Creeping Blight) around the fort. There will be 3 Creeping Blight Banners.

If a society has a keep already but a Crystal has spawned at the top of a large platform over the courtyard you will need to first kill the Crystal. It's weak to loot-gen melee/missile rends, immune to debuffs, but can be buffed. It will periodically spawn 4 shards that can kill you so it's best to fight from a distance. Once it dies it'll become an NPC that must be used by a member of an opposing society. This will "break" the crystal and result in the Creeping Blight taking it over and a number of Sclavus and Moarsmen will surround the fort. There will be 3 Creeping Blight Banners.

One banner will be in the Courtyard, one will be on a ledge above the entrance to the fort, and another will be on an advocate tower that is linked to the fort by a bridge. You must be red and double click it to change it to your society's banner. You can only change a banner yourself every 5 minutes (meaning if you have 3 people, you each can change the banners at once).

Once a banner has been changed it must stay as the same faction for 5 minutes. During this time it is susceptible to melee/missile damage. If it is destroyed, it reverts back to a Creeping Blight banner and can be used to become the banner for a new society. It will count down at each minute until it is claimed.

Once a banner is claimed it can still be destroyed but can heal itself. You must have all 3 banners claimed by the same society in order to claim the fort, remove the sclavi and moarsmen, and have Master Soldiers, Archers, and Mages (creatures in society armour that won't attack you unless attacked, so long as you're in the same society as them) guarding your keep. An NPC will spawn in the courtyard to give any PK in the area a 2-pull Mana Forge Key.

Notes:

  • A fort will activate a killable Crystal Array 27 hours after being claimed.
  • A fort will fall to the Creeping Blight 68 hours after being claimed OR when the Crystal Array is destroyed.
  • While a Crystal Array is present, a buffing array will be in the courtyard which casts all level 8 life buffs on you.
  • At random times a Supply Crate can be found inside the fort, use it to receive a Mana Forge Key and other top-tier loot. These chest are guarded by society soldiers.

Victory also allows you access into the Black Market accessed by going down into the cave in the middle of the courtyard and taking the portal. At the drop, stick Right into a tunnel then stick Left to a door. Open the door and follow through into a large open room. This is the Black Market
