# Kill [[Brass Gromnie]]s until one drops a {{Itemlink|Brass Gromnie Tooth}}.
# Give the Tooth to an [[Ivory Crafter]] in exchange for {{Itemlink|Brass Knuckles}}. 
# Give the [[Brass Knuckles]] to the Ivory Crafter and they will give you a note, the {{Itemlink|Introduction to Devana}}. You will also receive the {{Itemlink|Contract for Hamud's Demise}} with the note.
#* Note: They will not keep the Brass Knuckles. The Ivory Crafter only examines it. If you plan on repeating the quest, hold on to the knuckles.
# Take the Introduction note to [[Devana bint Hamudi]] just outside [[Zaikhal]] at 12.9N, 0.4E. She will give you a {{Itemlink|Key to Hamud's Chambers}} and {{Itemlink|Devana's Note}}.
# Go to the [[Mountain Fortress]] at 82.4S, 19.9E near [[Qalaba'r]]
# The dungeon is full of Zefirs on the upper levels and Shadows on the lower levels. Make your way through the dungeon until you find a locked door. Use the [[Key to Hamud's Chambers]] to unlock the door.
#* {{Warning}} Don't discard your key now. The key has two uses and you need to return to Hamud later.
# Just beyond the locked door you will find [[Hamud ibn Rafik]]. Give him Devana's Note. He will give you the {{Itemlink|Foundry Key}} and instruct you to bring him a Pyreal Dagger from the Empyrean Foundry.
#* {{Optional}} There are three pieces of lore on the ground. You can't pick them up so you have to read them there: the {{Itemlink|A letter to Devana}}, the {{Itemlink|Precepts of the Tenebrous Edge}}, and {{Itemlink|The Fallen Master of Shagar Zharala}}.
# Go to the [[Empyrean Foundry]] dungeon found in the [[Blackmire Swamp]] near [[Sawato]] at 25.2S, 54.2E. 
# The dungeon is full of Mosswarts on the upper levels and Sclavi on the lower levels. Make your way through the dungeon until you find an {{Itemlink|Ancient Pyreal Dagger}}.
#* {{Warning}} The Mosswarts use combination vuln/war lightning and fire damage. The Sclavi also use war attacks. Lower level characters are advised to advance slowly through the dungeon to avoid being swarmed.
# Return to the Mountain Fortress and give Hamud the Ancient Pyreal Dagger and he will give you {{Itemlink|Hamud's Pyreal Katar}} and {{Itemlink|Hamud's Last Testament}}.
# Give the Last Testament to Devana back in Zaikhal and she will give you {{Itemlink|Oswald's Dagger}}, 2 {{Itemlink|Trade Note (250,000)|Trade Notes (250,000)}}, and an experience reward.
