Overview
Quest to obtain one of Lady Maila's elemental stones (also known as Atlan Stones). The stones can be used to upgrade various weapons and armor:
- Minor and major stones can be used to upgrade Atlan Weapons and Isparian Weapons.
- Major stones can be used to upgrade Shadow Armor.
- Both the stones can also be given to an Agent of the Arcanum for a Writ of Refuge (you need 1 major stone or 2 minor stones for the writ).
- The minor stone is weaker than the major stone and therefore much easier to obtain.
Walkthrough & Notes
The Major Smoldering Stone
- Once inside the dungeon, head through the doors and take the west passage. Don't bother jumping across the platforms, the room beyond is a dead end (unless you have very high jump skill) - instead jump down to the lower section.
- Go south down the stairs, killing the chain casting Zefir as you go. Head down the corridor and at the split go south up the ramp and follow it along to a room with a catwalk opposite.
- Jump across to the platform (picture), no need to shift jump as the wall beyond the chains will stop you falling.
- Go to the end of the catwalk, jump into the north room and head up the ramp to the next set of platforms.
- Jump across to the brown platforms aiming for the wall like before. From here simply tap jump into the corridor to the south and move on to the next set of platforms.
- At the next jump (picture), carefully shift jump across making sure to land on the dark brown wood and not the lighter colored beam near the wall, if you land on this part you will fall straight through into the area below. Once on the platform, jump across to the east platform and then tap jump into the corridor.
- Go up the ramp into the next area with an Inferno and two spiral staircases. Head up the stairs and jump across to the platform and then into the corridor.
- You will come to an open room with a bridge in the middle (picture), you will need to get across to the bridge and then to the mesh wall before going up the final passage to the west. If you do not have enough jump skill to reach it, you can simply jump down and take the long route around to the bridge that way.
- At the end of the west passage you will come to a long drop, at the bottom is the adjoining room with the Major Smoldering Stone.
- Optional: You can take the Textbook found with the stone, and the Carefully Printed Note found on the way to the stone to Bretself the Translator in Cragstone for translation at 26.0N, 47.0E.
The Minor Smoldering Stone
- To get to the cave quickly, start in Samsur and then proceed to the Yinar settlement portal at 0.8S, 18.9E, from here it is a short run to the cave at 15.0S, 31.2E.
- Once there you will see Embers, run right past them down into the cave and pick up the Minor Smoldering Stone.
- Optional: You can take Textbook, that is found with the stone, to Bretself the Translator in Cragstone for translation at 26.0N, 47.0E.
