Caulnalain Vestibule Quest
Level: 40
Type: Solo
Starts At: Caulnalain Vestibule
Route: Run from Neydisa Castle or take Windrune Cottages portal from Crater Lake at 66.4N, 14.3E.
Repeat: 20 Hours

Overview Edit

Quest to destroy a replica of the powerful Soul Crystal that was once found in the Caulnalain Chamber.

Prerequisites

Walkthrough & Notes Edit

  1. Once you portal in, jump down into the area below using either the east or west room, it doesn't matter which.
  2. At the bottom go into the south west room and head down the passage, once you reach the T section head left and then take the second left turn heading south.
  3. You will come to a room with green lighting in two corners, take the east passage from this room and just follow the path all the way to the room with the Caulnalain Gate. You will find that the gate is just metres away from the pit you dropped into at the start.
  4. Use a Caulnalain Key on the gate to receive a Caulnalain Portal Gem.
  5. The last part is very easy to navigate as the only way to progress is by jumping down a pit at the end of each section. After the second jump head east into the area with the Caulnalain Crystal.
    • Note: The Caulnalain Crystal has high regeneration and a decent amount of hit points for a quest of this level. It also heals itself and drains your health.
  6. Once you have defeated the crystal loot a gem (it drops 5 in total) and take it to one of the brothers in Al-Arqas (31.3S, 13.5E) for your reward.

Dialog Edit

Opening Dialog, Gerloc

Gerloc the Defender tells you, "Greetings. My siblings and I traveled here seeking gems of great power. I hear that there are some master armorers who craft suits of armor from fused gems. Those are beneath my notice. Bring me something even more powerful than a scintillating gem, and I will craft a great and unique shield for you. If you have one of my old shields, I will improve it for you."
Opening Dialog, Gersan

Gersan the Sureshot tells you, "If you can find a gem more powerful than a mere scintillating gem, I would be interested in it. Give me such a gem and I will use it to craft a magical bow for you. The bow will be so powerful, in fact, that normal ammunition will not work on it. You will have to come to me for arrowheads as well. If you have one my old missile weapons, I will improve it for you."

Gersan the Sureshot tells you, "I am not a crossbow maker, however, so if you need a crossbow you will have to attach a stock to the bow yourself."
Opening Dialog, Gervena

Gervena the Oblique tells you, "I have heard of powerful gems, more powerful than the mediocre gems you bring to those so-called master smiths. If I had such a gem, I could make a powerful spell-casting orb with unique properties."

Gervena the Oblique tells you, "Of course, if you are not a masterful mage, you should speak with one of my younger brothers. If you have one of my old orbs, I will improve it for you."
Using the Caulnalain Key on the Caulnalain Gate

You now have a gem that will send you to the Caulnalain Chamber.
Handing in Caulnalain Gem

You give Gerloc the Defender Caulnalain Gem.

Gerloc the Defender tells you, "A worthy gem. It allows me to craft a powerful shield. May this shield protect you well in the days ahead. But take care with it! It will not be easily replaced!"

Gerloc the Defender gives you Caulnalain Crystal Shield.

You've earned 5,000,000 experience.

Gerloc the Defender tells you, "I've also taken the liberty of granting you some practical knowledge..."

You give Gersan the Sureshot Caulnalain Gem

Gersan the Sureshot tells you, "A rare and powerful gem. Here is your bow, infused with the crystal's essence. Remember that this bow can only fire ammunition made from crystal fragments, which I can make for you if you give me crystal shards. I am sure you appreciate how rare the gems are, so take care not to lose your bow!

Gersan the Sureshot tells you, "If you desire a crossbow, you must attach it to a stock yourself. If you desire an atlatl, give me back the bow and I'll see what I can do.

Gersan the Sureshot gives you Caulnalain Crystal Bow

You've earned 5,000,000 experience

Gersan the Sureshot tells you, "I've also taken the liberty of granting you some practical knowledge...

You give Gervena the Oblique Caulnalain Gem

Gervena the Oblique tells you, "This gem holds a respectable amount of crystal essence. Take this orb as your just reward for your effort. But be careful with it, as you may not ever be able to replace it if you lose it!
