"When the Sho first arrived, they decided to build their first city, Hebian-To, at the mouth of the River Prosper. But some chose instead to settle in the plains northwest of the Blackmire Swamp, almost within Aluvian territory. They found a large, lone rock in a field, and there they settled Yanshi, the Town of the Boulder. Some time later, but before the era of the Lifestones, Tumeroks attacked Yanshi, and the legendary Ben Ten came to the town's defense. For more on the Battle of Yanshi, head to the Sho library in Hebian-To and read "The Story of Ben Ten and Yanshi."
In Verdantine, 13 PY, the Yalaini mage Gaerlan attempted to summon a being known as the Harbinger. His attempt failed, and his summoning chamber, along with the town of Yanshi above it, were destroyed. The Sacred Stone in the center of town survived, as did the will of the people. In Frostfell, 16 PY, Yanshi was rebuilt to the west on a hill near the festival grounds of Leafcull. As part of the reconstruction, a memorial to Antius Blackmoor was built. During Solclaim of 21 PY, Prince Borelean Strathelar and Hoshino Kei were wed in the meadow outside of the town's walls." --Town Network Sign

  • Yanshi was a small Sho town most notable for the very large rock in the middle of the town square. Legend has it the rock was the site of Ben Ten's stand against the invading Tumeroks.
  • Unfortunately, this picturesque town was utterly destroyed during the Atonement event, when an entity known as the Harbinger came into being, and now remains as Old Yanshi.
  • Most of the townsfolk were able to escape, however, and lived in a tent city north of town until a newer, better walled town could be built at 12.1S, 42.4E to the west of the old ruins during the Through Sacrifice, Strength event.

Antius Blackmoor Memorial Edit

Just outside the walls of the new town lies a state of Antius Blackmoor under which his tomb lies. Blackmoor was slain by Jared Kurth by a special weapon that made it impossible to return to the lifestone so he is permanently dead. Double clicking on his tomb a character will gain a small amount of % based experience.

You bow your head in a moment of silence for Antius Blackmoor. Despite any political feelings you may hold, you cannot help but feel sadness for a warrior slain in the course of this war.
